How was Jaquez going to Miami a shock? He's literally the most obvious "Heat culture" guy in the draft.

He also seems like a Kerr guy. I wouldn't have been surprised if Dubs were planning on taking him.

Bufkin is 6-5 in shoes and Howard significantly taller than him. So what is his true height.

because he's a late 1st (at best) early 2nd round talent. It's arguably the 2nd worst pick of the draft behind Jett at #11. I watched a lot of his games and he's a decent college player and almost none of it will translate to the pros because he will not be able to defend or create his own shot. It's a terrible pick. I'm afraid Heat fans will have to hope they find more UDFA to contribute

I don't like doing the height guessing game but that picture of them from draft night definitely raised an eyebrow. Maybe Bufkin was wearing some really tall shoes or something but he measured 6'4.5 barefoot. If Jett is close to that small that is not good

Looks to me like Orlando drafted another RJ Hampton.

I'm not the biggest Jett fan but those guys have completely different games. Like, not even close. Jett is a waaaaaay better shooter, waaaaaay worse athlete. Jett can pass, can't get himself to the rim. If you combined the strengths of the two you'd have a hell of a player because their weaknesses and strengths are so opposite

He might immediately be the slowest wing in the whole league. Not taking Dick there is unfathomable

Bad pick is different from surprising pick. It was one of the least surprising picks in the draft.

I pegged Howard as a bust back in December, seeing him go at 11 to Orlando was surprising. This was a huge draft for Orlando but I wasn't impressed by what they did. And I'm a big Black fan but the fit there is questionable.

gonna go ahead and assume Jett isn't anywhere near his 6-8 listed height if AB looks clearly bigger than him

That is the most wonky picture since he's sideways, slightly hunched over and slightly behind lol

They're about the same though, Jett may be slightly taller

Jett is clearly taller than AB in that pic but looks a bit shorter than Mosley who’s 6’8”.

Black wore some pretty thick platform shoes on draft night.

This thread is great. Pages 1 and 2 everyone was convinced he was a top 10 pick. He gets injured. Pages 3 and 4 the guy sucks and everyone is shocked he went #11.

He is exactly what the Magic needed and clearly has better play making skills than Gradey Dick.

Has there been a good guard or wing with a steal rate as low as Jett’s, Lauri had the same steal rate but he’s a better shooter and 7ft tall

There hasn't been anyone drafted in the past 15 years who had such low o rebs + stl rates, THJ was pretty close though.

My issue with Howard was his rebounding. You cannot be 6'8 and be that bad of a rebounder. Usually, I don't care about individual rebounding matters a lot but Howard's numbers were absurdly bad. Great shooter, though.
