Are you joking? He’s much better as the main guy. He’s showing off so much more skill. He has a floater game now, a post game now and he looks much quicker.

And yes, getting in good shape helps a lot. In terms of stamina, in terms of keeping a steady shot (arm strength helps a lot), in terms of finishing at the basket and in terms of constantly moving with or without the ball.

That looks more like getting the Antoine Walker thing going.

As long as his college career doesn't derail like AW's!

I was looking forward to reading some Trae Young discussion but apparently this isn't the place for that.

So 26 points on only 9 shots against the best team in the conference 9 assists and the win

Pretty efficient huh?

Seems he now realizes that going chucker mode won't get it done.

He's 19. There are still plenty of things that he still needs to learn. But people seem to have forgotten that he's 19 years old

Literally every draft prospect is 18/19, what's your point?

The only difference between tonight and other games is that tonight Young’s teammates made their wide open shots. He also made sure he got them going early.

I think there was a big difference in todays game and the majority of his other ones. His conference play average shots per game have been 24.5, today he shot 9 times. He averages 13 3s a game as well, today he shot only 3. That is a huge difference, there was no spamming of those ugly contested 3s this game. The 2 3s he made today were deep but they were open. Ive been really negative on Young's shot selection all season, tonight's game he had really good shot selection. Tonight was by far his most impressive performance in my opinion.

Can't underestimate how impressive his self-awareness and adjustment is at PG.

Would prefer if his turnovers weren't so high but that may be circumstance.

There is a reason he only had to take that many shots — because other people were making shots. It makes the game easier for him and he doesn’t need to be the full scoring force. His teammates getting buckets gives him more opportunity to get better looks.

I doubt Trae really wants to launch 13 3s a game since he is not really a selfish player in nature. Its rather the entire team sucks and coach is probably giving him the green light to shoot as much as he wants. I am pretty sure Trae and his agent knows taking too much shots will more likely hurt his stock but theres no one to share the offensive load.
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

One of traes best games from an efficiency stand point

He definitely picked his spots in that first half. I think his shot selection will improve with coaching. The three he missed was a bad attempt and he tries those a bit too often.

He's still going to make the league. Will get stronger. Love his release and he is learning first hand how to play off a dominant ball handler and find spots.

I think Oklahoma as a whole are just a terrible rebounding team. They give up just tons of offensive rebounds. It's ridiculous.

I really like Manek though... picture perfect release.

I think Manek is a 4 year player. He has a nice shot, but still a lot to learn. When Young leaves he’s not going to look as effective, especially if they don’t add more talent to this team.
