Until the college season starts we really only have Vic and Scoot to talk about unless someone sees any viable challengers for those spots.

Are you only allowed to talk about Top 2 prospects?

you can talk about any prospect in the class in this thread. comment was more geared to the statement about this thread being derailed into a Wemby thread. I was saying that because all we really have right now footage wise is Wemby, Scoot, and the other Igniters, it's really not a derailed thread if it's primarily Wemby right now since he's in this class and has been the consensus standout.

But please feel free to speak on any and every prospect in the class. we're all here for the input and perspectives.

I'm really excited to see how Tyrese Proctor goes with Duke, esp with Whitehead injured.

Latest prospect from the same coaching pipeline as Giddey and Daniels, and was always far and away the most gifted shooter/scorer of the group. He obviously doesn't have crazy ball handler size like them but it's good positional size at 6'5, and he possesses that high feel and understanding of the game on both ends, and execution as a passer.

I'm having a hard time getting excited about anyone outside of Wemby. Does anyone even remember the other guys in Shaq's draft class? If you don't win the top prize this year it's gonna be a letdown. Not because the other guys aren't good, but because of how generational Wembs is.

So anyone have thoughts about Henri Veesar? International 7 footer playing at Arizona this year. Supposedly the #1 international player in the country going to college.

My impression is he’s more of a pick and pop big with good lateral movement. Is he a legit prospect?

From everything I’ve heard the Whitehead injury shouldn’t have any impact on Proctor or anyone at all because Duke expects him back by the time the season starts. But with that said, I think most people and Duke expect Proctor to have a sizable role this year.

Alonzo Mourning went #2 in that draft. Not bad.

Likewise (even though i am not following the ncaa unless we have something nice to watch on our -french - side).
Can't wait to see how he can figure it out defensively and on the playmaking end (managing the tempo, decision making etc), but his floor seems really high and he's fun to watch.

Speaking of aussies, Zicarsky is for 2024th's draft ?

He's recruiting class of 2025. So I don't think we'll see him until at least 2026. Obviously hard for guys that big to crack the NBA but he's developing.. has a chance.

And Horry at pick 11 won two championships for Houston, as opposed to Shaq’s 0 for the Magic. Ended up being a pretty relevant player!

Grand scheme of things those guys are nobodies compared to Shaq. My mom knows who Shaq is, she’s never heard of Mourning or Horry. You can tell how generational a guy is by if non basketball fans recognize them.

Your mom doesn't watch basketball, she probably doesn't know who Tim Duncan is.

that doesn't mean the other guys aren't exciting, this is a strong draft throughout.

Maybe, but Wemby is going to double the franchise value of whatever team gets him. Nobody else does that. There is a difference between exciting to hard core fans and getting casuals to tune in.

If the Pelicans ended up with an Alonzo Mourning level player in this draft, I'd be over the **** moon.

I'm still happy with Scoot Hendsrson if I get #2. That kid is electric with his athleticism and strength.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.
