Anyone have thoughts on Chad Baker-Mazara of San Diego State? I think he's poised for a major breakout and could fly up draft boards. Up to this point, he's been a low minute guy.

Began his career at Duquesne and flashed major shooting and defense.

Transferred to San Diego State and flashed more shooting and defense and might have playmaking upside, as well. Won MWC 6MotY.

going to say it now, i think scoot is overrated. don't get me wrong, there is a lot to like about him, but his shooting leaves too much to be desired for a guy who is about 6'2. if you're 6'2" in today's league you had better be an elite shooter/passer (and even then you have an uphill climb to be an elite nba impact player) and i just don't see it in him. having said that, he is still very young and can get better in those respects, but for now, i'm not sold. I'm happy to take him at 5-7. at #2, not so sure.

Couldnt the same thing be said about Ja coming into the draft?

Ja proved to be an elite passer/facilitator coming out of murray state prior to the draft.

and while we haven't see the measurements yet, i think we'll see that Ja is a couple inches taller and has 3 or 4 inches of overall length on Scoot. i've only seen 4 or 5 of scoot's full games, so admittedly the sample is small, but despite scoot's obvious athleticism, i don't think he gets on the top of the rim like we see from Ja either.

Was he an elite passer? I know his assist numbers but that hasn’t translated to the NBA at all. Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying he’s a bad passer, but no one would consider him to be an elite passer. I’m just not sure if you give Scoot the time to be a sophomore in a mid major conference and give him a huge usage that he couldn’t put up similar assist numbers.

Also I don’t see Ja coming out being the bigger guy. Ja is 6’2 with a 6’7 wingspan. Scoot isn’t going to measure sub 6 feet. And we already know Scoot’s wingspan, it’s bigger than Ja’s, his is 6’9. Scoot is the bigger guy out of the two when you factor in length and frame. Scoot already is thicker than Ja.

Man its just weird that the last time UK had a top 10 pick was Kevin Knox back in the 2018 draft and this is going to be another draft where they most likely wont have a top 10 pick. That is a pretty long drought for them.

Duke just ran more PnR in that first half than I can recall seeing them run in a full game. Im all aboard the Scheyer train.

Mitchell looks like a college Siakam clone.

was coming in to say that, i know Siakam comps get thrown around all the time but Mitchell is similar

i might like him as a 5 prospect better than Flip or Lively tbh...well see

Yup and obviously it will take a hell of a development path to reach where Siakam is now. But ya he looks like Siakam when he was at New Mexico. Similar size and similar athleticism, obvious 2 way potential. We just have to remember Siakam in 2 years of college made a total of 3 3pt shots, so he had crazy good development in the NBA. But ya Mitchell looking good right now (definitely above Flip as a pro prospect).

gonna be hard to see Gradey not being a lotto (at least) pick when time comes, he's like a sooped up Klay (another guy who always gets comp'd)

but man, this kid is so fun to watch.
