A work in progress but I don't get why people make such a big deal of it. He has offensive gifts that you can't teach, defense can be learned over time.

Imo he has 70% of the lateral/vertical tools of Ben Simmons but conserves his energy right now because Duke has a good defense.

Idk if he’ll ever give 100% but will still come up with big plays when it’s time to lock in at the end of the game. Also it’s his first year playing at this weight so it’s possible he could add more agility/explosion.

Odd that you had such a strong opinion of Banchero in the Jabari thread if you’d never seen a game of his.

Strong opinion? I still wouldn't put Banchero ahead of Jabari. All I said was I was dumbfounded why everyone had Banchero ranked above him based on what I'd seen from the highlights/numbers of both (and based on what we know of which player archetypes tend to have the most impact in the NBA). And that has more to do with how Jabari looks. I didn't trash the kid, relax.

Mark Williams looks really good too. Probably no star potential at the next level but he certainly looks like an NBA center that can have a long career as a role player

My thoughts, as well. Impressed with the energy he brings defending the rim.

Saying you were “dumbfounded“ why a consensus top 3 prospect was ranked alongside another top 3 prospect is a strong opinion, yeah (particularly when you’d never watched a game of his).

My first time seeing Banchero and Holmgren...anyone drafting Holmgren over Banchero with that body needs to be drug tested.

Same here. I've watched bits and pieces of some of Gonzaga's late night marquee matchups against UCLA and Villanova before falling asleep, but this is my first Duke game to watch this year. I can definitely see the tantalizing upside of Holmgren, but based purely on the first half of this game...Banchero seems like the runaway, no-brainer #1 pick. He has an NBA ready body and his skillset at his size is already great. I mean I guess you could argue Banchero's floor is higher than Holmgren's, but Holmgren's ceiling is higher, but I don't know...as a Thunder fan, if they can "suck" enough and the ping-pong balls fall their way and they got the #1 pick, I'd definitely want them to take Banchero.
Said in a thread about which point guards would make OKC better if they replaced Westbrook:

Banchero had a efficient 28 in his last game too

Ahead, not alongside, which I fully maintain even after watching Banchero light it up in this half because Jabari is impressive on both ends. Think you're getting way too caught up in your own interpretation of what "dumbfounded" means, as if I was saying Banchero sucks. Just saying, I was pretty adamant how ridiculous it was that Cade was sort of automatically slotted as the #1 consensus despite all the obvious question marks and I had Mobley, Scottie, and Sengun ahead. That's looking pretty good so far. In general I think people need to be more willing to question the "consensus guys" and develop their own opinions of the class.

What are your guys' thought on Timme? Think he can carve himself out a nice role in the league?

Holmgren reminds me of a combination of Porzingis and Shawn Bradley.

Coach K is getting outcoached. How do you not get your players to get back on defense after like the 8-9th time Zaga beats you back after a made basket?

Just have to say. These are The two best teams in college.

What a great college basketball game. I also love the versatile offense you still get with the best college teams. Not just spamming 3pt shots like you see in the NBA.

What a great game
