Moore is lotto talent. Anyone who doesn't see it is in denial.

Really bad sequence by Chet there. Couldn't grab the board, throws away the inbound and then commits a foul

Also Mark Williams > Duren.

He will be the better NBA player. His top skills are more needed in the NBA than Duren’s. Elite rim protection, rebounding, and good mobility.

Mark Williams will be the Robert Williams of this year’s draft.

Duren has been so bad, even if he's been good you don't really draft a dude like that that high, but he's also been bad on top of it

Yup. Don’t take raw athletic bigs high in the draft. When you can get a big like Mark later in the draft. He’s just so freaking long.

Dumb homer comment I know. Just want to say, pretty great to see AJ Griffin still be super active on the bench. I think a lot of guys in his scenario would be sulking and not into the game being out of the rotation. Just cool to see him still super into the game. Great body language

i will add to this that at this point I have 0 faith Penny can develop any of these dudes, everyone he's gotten his hands on has looked worse under him, not sure why/how these dudes keep going to Memphis.

What a great college basketball game. I also love the versatile offense you still get with the best college teams. Not just spamming 3pt shots like you see in the NBA.

What a great game

Agree. Gonzaga vs. UCLA got a little more hype as the "true" 1-v-2 matchup, but these are the two best teams. I feel like UCLA is slightly overrated. I feel like they are legit top 5ish team, but they were an 11-seed last year in their run to the Final Four. I know they got pretty much every key player back from that team minus Chris Smith, but still...they were an 11-seed who made a semi-improbable run.

Duke is loaded. Banchero is the best player in the nation. Wendell Moore is a seasoned junior who is a former 5-star recruit whose game has suddenly exploded. Williams is a former 5-star recruit who has a year of experience under his belt and is a force in the paint on defense. Keels is a 5-star recruit averaging 13-4-3. This is the most loaded Duke's been since the Winslow-Okafor-Allen-Jones team from 2015. The top-end talent for Duke is unreal, and they have the added touch of experience with Moore and Williams. It reminds me a bit of the AD-MKG Kentucky team in 2012 with two uber-talented freshmen and some former top-end recruits who, for various reasons, stuck around for 2+ years.

Gonzaga is loaded, too...obviously. They've already proven that with their wins over UCLA and Texas. But yeah, hard to argue Duke isn't the best, and at least one of the two best, teams in the nation; especially after tonight's game.

Yup. I said this a few pages back after Duke’s last game. I’ve watched plenty of K and it’s easy to tell who’s in and out of the rotation even in blow out games against bad teams. AJ is out of the rotation and unless there is an injury he won’t be in it this year.

Once you’re out of K’s rotation, very rarely do you ever get back into it. Especially if K thinks his team has a chance to win it all. He will tighten that rotation as tight as he can.

I still think Duren's got some passing chops that could separate him from a Mark Williams rim protector/rim runner type. Hasn't shown so far at Memphis, but good passing bigs are rarely given the opportunity in college

Ya I’m not afraid to just flat out say Penny is an awful coach. I don’t think he lasts much longer. I think his recruiting will slip and once that happens, he’s gone.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying Duren isn’t draftable. But Duren is a late 1st or early 2nd pick in my opinion.

Even if he has some passing skill, don’t see his value any higher than that. Robert a Williams had passing skill and still went late late 1st.

Duren is athletic, but he’s not a sound defender. Give me Williams who is a sound defender. He’s also freakishly long and will still be long compared to NBA guys. Moves well enough as well. Just think his skills translate better than Duren’s.

it's possible, he hasn't demonstrated it yet at Memphis and Penny has been terrible really at putting in of his recruits in good positions to develop/squeeze their juice but Duren right now is just not a lotto pick, not even close tbh.

Also won’t lie. Chet isn’t in my top 3 anymore. Just has too big of question marks. He has skills, just don’t think he has the physical attributes that will allow those skills to translate against NBA size and athleticism.
