Re: Dario Saric - The Next Big Thing
Time will tell how good he will become
Tonight he was playing against Kirilenko. AK schooled hem few times, but he did well for his age. Blocked AK once! Finished with 3pts, 5 rebounds, assist, block and 3 TO. Unfortunally his team sucks! Not best for his development, but atleast gets chance to play high level games
his no look assist when guarded by AK

We should wait bit there. At this moment he does not play anywhere. He singed pree contract 5 year deal with NBA buyout after 3 years. And not crazy buyout like some euro players
Imo his contract with Bilbao is not valid jet as when he signed contract with Zagreb his buyout for this season is 1M euros, whille Bilbao is not that rich to pay such buyout. Their maximum what they are ofering is 300k so Saric agendt sent papers of Fiba and trying to lower buyout. I can't give you full information as media reported lot of difret storys and after Fiba makes decision we eill be los smarter
Unfortunally his father and menagers since day one are not dooing good for him and it's tragic such talent not playing basketball.

It was one man domination. What's more important he worked lot on his body and looks much more athletic now and impruved his. Also he prooved he belongs to senior level of basketball. After U-18 EC he joind Croatian senior NT where he averad 9,8 pts., 6,8 rb., 1,7 as. in 19min. per game. Those are serius numbers for 18 year old kid. With his age he had 25-10-3 and once again his best perormance was finals. 39-11-4-3-2

I don't know why these morons even sign these long contracts before they get drafted. Way to hurt your draft stock and limit your options.

Re: Dario Saric - The Next Big Thing
Can anyone clear up some observations I've had of him? For a big guy he seems to have good athleticism that allows him to play the 3, but he doesn't have a quick first step, out of this world body control, or an eye popping vertical. So as an athlete he's above average. What makes him such a great prospect is that he's a great ballhandler with an advanced feel for the game for his age and height.
imo that's Hedo Turkoglu's game in Gordon Hayward's body, which potentially could be a really good player. Hedo imo has one of the best feels for the game for non point guards, but the knock on him is his terrible work ethic, so it's not a disservice to be compared to him if you're just talking about his game and not his personality. Although Hedo is great at running the pick and roll and I haven't seen too much of Saric that suggests he has a foundation there, although it could be because he's never really needed to use picks at the level he's playing at because of his other skills.
And although I feel like the term is thrown around too loosely and freely, from the little tidbits I've read of him he seems to have a great work ethic with a love for basketball. Against other forward prospects that will be coming into the league in the future, like Wiggins, Parker, and Randle, I wouldn't feel too comfortable placing Saric ahead of those guys, but then again those guys happen to be really good prospects.

He moved to PF spot where he is matchup nightmare. He is smart kid and realized he has no future on SF, worked lot on his body, off ball game, shoot etc. If you watch games with Russia and Lithuania you will see 2 difrent versions of Saric. Against Russia he was guarded by taller athletic Russians and he moved them on perimetar, consistantly beating them 1 on 1 from perimeter. Against Lithuania he was guarded by shorter players and most of his points came from back to basket, high low plays, rolls or cuts. He is difrnt then Hedo as his court vision and feal for game is not great like Hedo, but one of those "special" like Rubio and James poses. He is also fighter, hard working, passionate basketball player. He has that same fire for basketball like Bird, Rodman, Barkley and guys like that ha wich is very rare to see this days
He might not reach his full with ball potential on PF and becuse averge athleticisam even for Euro standards, but he will do well simpley becaue his feal for game, know how and his mentality of winner and warrior

Re: Dario Saric - The Next Big Thing
He has an uncanny playmaking/passing knack for a kid his size. That's the first thing you notice in his game. It's remarkable.
He does look to have gotten stronger and bigger - and tbh unless he can become an elite 3pt shooter I think that's gonna hurt his draft stock.
If he can become that 40% 3pt shooter - combined with his ball handling and playmaking instincts, aswell as his rebounding - he will be a great stretch 4.

So he's going to be a full time 4? I don't think he needs to, I don't believe he's athletically incapable of being a 3, but I'm hardly the expert here so maybe it is for the better.

no, waitng for fiba decisin abot buyout. and if it goes well he will play on loan for split. if not he will have to look for new club
he can't play without contract. anway for some people information in europe kids don't have only nba dreams. kids also dream about euroleague, national team and so on. where is the rush to go in nba? it would be better not to get drafted at all, then get drafted

Yea, why ensure you'll have some millions in the bank in case you suffer a carreer threating injury when you can just wait with no pro contract or making just a few pennies.

If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

Re: Dario Saric - The Next Big Thing
Utah should take him. Considering they're having trouble distributing minutes for young players even now, it's going to be really hard for them to fit two more rookies picked top 18-20 on their roster (with their pick and Golden State's). Stashing Saric with one of those picks really works out perfectly for them.
