I don't think his grades would or should matter I think the motor questions are bigger concerns.

Grades dont matter if youre talking about a 2.2 vs. A 3.8 gpa or something, but if someone cant even put in the minimum effort to qualify... it doesnt mean a ton on its own but thats not a great sign. I mean i think the motor issues and concerns about work ethic are basically one issue. Does he want it enough? Will he put the work in? Cause all those physical gifts are worth next to nothing if he doesnt have the drive to maximize them.

Completely agree and at times you see that on the court with him as well.

Still rather have a kid with his talent than Biyombo. I don't care how hard Biyombo supposedly plays. And he now makes 17 million dollars to be a complete scrub.

Good luck with that, he is not going to smell the court for Barça unless half the team gets injured.

and that's what will keep dude near the top. The what if about his talent and ability. Because if you can get that kid to turn on and keep his motor running he could be top 3 to 5 at his position by the time his rook contract ends.

Not calling out Vecenie or anything, but I am not sure if I trust the guy when it comes to talent evaluation and been conscious regarding what and exactly how things are valued and valuable for the pro level, he is a tad too cheesy/nerdy when it comes to talking basketball, same with Leroux at times actually.
They know their stuff in terms of players just not sharing the scope.

Yeah too me basketball is not that complicated a game that they make it out to be

Also whatever analytics he was using relies way too heavy on stats in college bball. Stats don't automatically tell you if a player translates well on the next level.

They had Jordan Adams as the #1 prospect because he had a lot of steaks in college and they automatically associate steals in college with great athleticism and a good defender when a lot of steals could be a bad defender who cheats alot

As a Duke fan it sucks saying that especially since Duke was considered the front leaders for awhile. But as time has gone most people are looking at Kentucky as the leaders. Now he does plan on signing late so a ton of things can happen from here till then. But it looks to be a two horse race at the moment but I think most people are thinking it is going to be Kentucky. He loves how Cal coached AD

I haven't renewed by insider fees yet. Of the remaining major bigs its most likely Bamba/Richards - UK and Carter - Duke?

I figured...these "Michigan insiders" can be quite delusional when it comes to recruiting.

Bamba definitely threw everyone a curveball by visiting reaching out to Michigan. So I can definitely see how that could get some people really excited. Bamba basically started his recruitment all over a couple months ago and said he wants to be in complete control of it. I think most people look at Michigan as one of his top 5 for sure but still not there with UK or Duke. He really looks up to Anthony Davis and wants to be the next AD and that is a huge reason why the UK pull is so strong. I dont see how anyone is going to pull him away from UK in my opinion

Ya so Richards is looked at as a lock to UK the same way Carter is looked at as a lock to Duke. Most people feel Carter and Bamba can play next to each other very well, their games compliment each other very well on both sides. Richards and Bamba not nearly as much. But Carter is a much bigger name and expected to make a much bigger impact his only year in college compared to Richards. So there is some question if Bamba wants to share the frontcourt with a guy who might overshadow him statistically. Whoever out of the two gets him will have a dominant frontcourt depth.
