I dont see a runaway #1 player for the class like many others. The lack of great athleticism and a good handle really puts a pause for me when I think of his NBA potential. With that said I get why hes the #1 guy, you watch him play and he just gets it done. I dont know how to describe it but he kind of has a Harden style to his offensive game, best way I can say is its pretty herky jerky and he just finds ways to get open. Solid shooter but not great, good defender but not great, good vision but not great. I personally think hes a jack of all trades and a master of none, Im just questioning how effective it will be at the NBA level. I think Zion and Cam have a higher ceiling.

With that said, Im stoked that hes coming to Duke and think he can dominate at the college level for a year. I just see a good pro but not a superstar like many others see.

Duke could have the #1, 2, and 3 pick in the draft in 19

I'm an intense Canadian homer, been watching RJ for years and I agree with this completely. I'll be pretty happy to see a borderline allstar out of RJ. In my wildest dreams he is able to sniff Paul Pierce's jock.

Haven't watched him too closely, but I feel like Romeo Langford checks a few boxes harder than Barrett.

RJ Barrett is too good to be in HS, he looks like a man amongst boys this year. Looks like he's bulked up a bit too. He's already re-classified but I'll bet that he could be playing at Duke right now.

He looks a little more bulky and a little more explosive around the rim as well.

Yep, he's looking like Wiggins and Parker rolled into one :)

His upper body filled out real well over the past few months. He was much thinner in the world U19 tourney.

He's going to be more smooth than powerful, think more Kobe. He's a killer. He's so far ahead of everyone left in the 2018 class

It’s not exactly going out on a limb to say the top-ranked high school senior is good enough to be playing college basketball. Particularly one who earned his ranking by dominating a USA squad that has numerous players currently starting for top college programs.

Right but keep in mind that he's already re-classified to enter college a year early so saying that he could play now is like jumping 2 years ahead. But then again, he did dominate the U19 tournament being 2 years younger than everybody else so this probably goes without saying.

Even after reclassifying, RJ will still be 18 before playing a college game. For reference, Jaren Jackson Jr. turned 18 one month into college (September) whereas RJ will turn 18 three months before starting college (June). Fairly young for a college freshman in general, although not abnormal. With all the reclassifying backwards in high school hoops nowadays he will be young for his draft class, but again not to the degree you would necessarily expect when you hear a guy reclassifed a year ahead.
