Is Orlando sold on Aaron Gordon being their franchise player? If not, then I think it's time for them to find a franchise player. Time to quit screwing around because their post-Dwight rebuild hasn't worked out at all. I think DSJ should be the best pick for them. He'll fit in every lineup. You can even play him off-ball with Fournier running the point too. Isaac has a lot of raw potential, but I don't think he has the aggression to be a #1 scorer. While I think Isaac is a good long-term fit next to Gordon, I think Orlando needs to find a franchise player more than anything right now. Their core is a little older too. Vucevic and Fournier turning 27 this year. Biyombo turning 25. Gordon, Hezonja, and Payton are still younger though, 23 and under.

I wonder if Orl tries to package Vucevic and Fournier for picks, and start a full-on rebuild? In that case, I could justify spending a pick on Isaac.

Jonathan Isaac isn't going to be a primary scorer and I agree with your take that Orlando should take some risk and draft the prospect with the highest upside, even if he has the biggest bust potential. De'Aaron Fox, Dennis Smith jr and Jayson Tatum would have my preference, in that order.

Problem with trading for high picks is that the teams owning those picks are in the same situation as Orlando. They want that franchise player to build around. The Wolves and Sixers might have their player, but they shouldn't have any interest in a package of Vucevic and Fournier.

I don't disagree w/ the notion Orlando should rather go "go-to guy" than "elite role player" type of ceiling with this pick. What is the consensus on a Tatum-Gordon pairing? Some say Tatum doesn't have the foot speed to play the 3 in the NBA, I disagree. I think they could compliment each other nicely. Plus with Tatum's length if he has any issues guarding the perimeter that is more of Gordon's forte (as opposed to guarding traditional 4s), so he and Tatum could switch if need be.

Oh and Fournier is 24, turning 25 around Halloween I think. But I'd trade him and Vuc for very little, I'd just like them out.

I really have high hopes for Issac, he's a really cool dude when you hear him talk. He's a smart kid that I'm sure will look at that weakness video and polish up on most of his fixable deficiencies. I lowkey hope he falls to Minnesota or Dallas. He'd be in such a great position with getting summer tutelage from Kevin Garnett as a T-Wolve, and in Dallas he'd get to learn from Dirk on how to improve his shot and take advantage of switches.

You might want to take another look at Fournier's age.

I keep looking at how Kevin Durant's length has had a major impact on Lebron and find myself thinking of Jonathan Issac

After watching more film on Isaac, to me he looks like a SF version of Chris Bosh or Rashard Lewis.

For one year at Georgia Tech, Bosh was known as a defensive force with a good face up game. Isaac also looks very good on the defensive end and is very perimeter oriented even though he is 6'11.

Also, just like Bosh, both guys are super skinny coming out of college, but both have huge wing spans, and quick on their feet, and know how to use their length to cover alot of space when needed on offense and defense.

Just like Bosh, i think Isaac can become a 20ppg scorer, 3-4 years down the line on a bad team, or a solid #2 on a good team. He won't be an MVP candidate or a starter for an all-star team, but i do think he can make multiple all star teams as a reserve in his career.

People who say that Isaac is like Kevin Durant are just over hyping the kid and are setting themselves up for disappointment..

Durant averaged over 25ppg in college and shot 41% from three, Isaac didn't. Saying Isaac is the next Durant are the same people who said Jerry Stackhouse is the next Jordan, or Wally Szczerbiak is the next Bird.

A reasonable comparison for Isaac would be Bosh or Cliff Robinson

His perimeter defense could be very valuable. That type of length and good lateral movement will be needed to offset the rise of 3pt shooting. Similarly, Jackson doesn't have the length, but has the speed and quickness to be a good perimeter defender, too.

He looks like a mobile big that could be a rim protector and shoot 3s.
Since Orlando is in a good spot to pick him at 6 is a trade with the sixers possible.

Orlando 1st 2017 for Sac 1st 2019 unprotected, stauskus or Anderson, a bad contract?, 1 or 2 sixers 2nds 2017

Not sure if a trade is possible?
