Not really. 6’1 with a 6’5 wingspan is pretty good. He has a better body than Fred VanVleet. For someone who is projected to be a 2nd rounder and is super skilled offensively it isn’t a huge deal.

A LOT of draft nerds had him top 20 on their boards. Some had him in the lottery. So pretty big deal that he's measuring 2 inches shorter than what was reported in Charleston.
Pretty weird, too. Considering he looks taller than guys like Dotson and Malachi.

Why? If anything his main value will be as a long, super athletic guy who can defend the big SF's in this league. He is missing one tool that you want your starting SF to have, a 3PT shot, but still he was at 40% on low volume this season and his FT% of 74% makes me optimistic that he can build his shot up.
If he is a PF, then Okoro, Pat Williams, Deni, etc are all PF's. I honestly think he is more of a SF than any of them. His footspeed and agility / quickness is on par with an athletic SG IMO.
I'm looking forward to seeing how Bey does in the NBA. I think his game right now is more suited to PF, and... he's got the ability to play it. Defensively, I think he'll be fine at either position - depending on the matchups. Offensively, I think he has a long way to go with all of his perimeter skills. I'd take advantage of his great rebounding ability - having him play closer to the basket.

I'm expecting him to be similar to Larry Nance Jr. I'm not betting on his shooting yet. Maybe he can do a few Aaron Gordon things driving the ball. Not sure.

maybe long term but Nance is a far better passer and play reader imo

How many guys 6'7" 230 lbs with 7'2" wingspan with his tenacity on defense, athleticism and skill level? He is a lottery talent and if I was in the market for a wing, he'd be first on my board.

Similar in a lot of ways to Tyler Bey, but Bey was significantly more productive scoring and rebounding.

But Woodard is still a better player overall. He’s much more diverse.

I think Woodard is a steal in the mid first, but hasn't proven enough of a shooter, yet, to be considered top wing.

Re: 2020 NBA Draft Combine Thread
Woodard seems a bit robotic to me, especially on offense. I think Bey is much more fluid on the court.
I am sorta buying the 'poor mans Shawn Marion' comparison with Bey. I think he can be really good. I see Woodard as more of a Dorian Finney-Smith type.

I dont like Woodard's lack of handles and think they are bad enough he struggles to see the court for quite awhile besides the g league which might not even exist in 20-21 but I do like his upside a bit just not sure he will be the player some are expecting. TBey is a plug in high motor 4 with mobility to defend 2-4 some 5. His shot needed to transfer at a higher consistency to get late lottery looks but if he does it in workouts like Oturu has been doing he very well could be the first 22 year old off the board not named Obi I am guessing...and higher than most mocks have him like in the top 20 maybe higher.

Re: 2020 NBA Draft Combine Thread
3 pt shooting drill at Combine results
Jordan Nwora (82%)
Skylar Mays (76%)
Mason Jones (74%)
Cassius Winston (74%)
Robert Woodard (74%)
Markus Howard (74%)
Grant Riller (74%)
Immanuel Quickley (72%)
Woodard is the best 3 and D prospect in the draft. Anyone who loves Jaylen Brown should love Robert Woodard since he's taller, bigger, longer, similar athlete and is mostly just a C&S 3 pt shooter on offense. Underrated handle too as he doesn't panic while dribbling in traffic like Jaylen does. He has to be rising up boards dramatically after the combine.

Re: 2020 NBA Draft Combine Thread
I think Woodard is comparable to post-injury Rudy Gay, but his shooting numbers in the Combine are promising.

Well for starters, there's Patrick Williams. I'd bet on Isaac Okoro.

Okoro is 6'5 without shoes and 6'6 with shoes as far as we know.

He also apparently has a 6'8 wingspan. Not impressive at all.
I dont really see why Okoro is seen as a substantially better prospect than Nassir Little. At least not 15+ spots better.

He's also 3x the athlete that Woodard is and is a better, more versatile defender.
