Foul machine. He just doesn't know how to maintain discipline in conjunction with his playstyle.

His upside is still very high, he plays great individual defence and measurables but I see him having more of a marquese chriss career path. Actually remember Chriss climbing up the draft late in the year too!
One game scouting is the best...
Haha you're right, this is the first time I've watched a full game of his. There are so many NCAA teams with lots of great players and it's hard to get a FULL look at each player.
Chriss was definately a bad comparison but I do know a lot of people were very high going into the draft despite the low BB IQ. I'm definitely a casual college basketball viewer but I do play and coach basketball, and I do find that basketball IQ is probably the toughest attribute to teach.

Where was this data obtained from?
Also does anyone have access to the Synergy data? I'd really like to see how Eason stacks up in that data set.

He shows flashes of Jimmy Butler-potential.

You think he has the chance to become that level of ballhandler at SF?
I think he has more of a chance to be a Kenyon Martin type.

That would be a deal breaker for any defensive stopper projections in the NBA and perhaps an indicator as to why he fouls so frequently. He could be a try hard that benefits in some ways by only being a sixth man in college.
I was only intrigued by his offensive ability, which will be far less impacted by such an ordinary guard like wingspan if only 6'9".
I read it was 7'2.
I've read 6'9 online too, but that just does not fit the eye test at all. There is absolutely no chance he's only a +1" wingspan.
Jerami Grant is 6'8 with a 7'2.5" w/s and they honestly don't look too different.
Eason's wingspan has to be 7'0 at least imo

I think Tari will have a nice set 3PT shot if he has some room but that motion that starts below his shoulder basically isnt working on more difficult 3PT attempts IMO.

He doesn't need to be an advanced ball handler to play on the ball as a secondary creator. But he's more than a Keyon Martin type. Martin just filled the lanes and made cuts to score at the rim. Jason Kidd did a lot to help Kenyon Martin be successful.

Yep, this makes a lot more sense. Similar dimensions to Grant/Kawhi

He will go top ten or someone will trade up for him inside the lottery. Big talent and the most important position in the game.

RoCo potential but I think he eventually has to play 4 almost full time.

Re: Tari Eason
he's gonna measure some big hands at the combine, add that with his length and some two-way ability and the Kawhi comps are inevitably coming.

Re: Tari Eason
Yep, I would say not only is the physical/measurements (6'6-6'8 wing, +7 inch wingspan, large + freakishly strong hands) comp there with Kawhi, there is definitely some similarity in their stat profiles.
Both were underclassmen wing/forward prospects who couple great athleticism and outlier physical tools with a relentless/tenacious motor that shows up in their outlier hustle stats (OREBS+STOCKS) AND showed some great indicators for future shooting potential even if the 3 ball appeared wobbly. One thing he doesn't really have that Kawhi had was the dribble pull up middy, but its not like that was a major part of Kawhi's game in his first couple of seasons in the NBA. I think Eason can get there with some tidy up to his form.

Initially he's probably going to more of a play-finisher + chaotic defender, but I think the improvements he has already shown as a ball handler and a shooter give him the potential to exceed those roles. If there is a Kawhi comp here, its probably the rookie-year 3 Kawhi style of player.
The fouls and decision making are probably the big question marks but a lot of that falls back on him playing with a chaotic, relentless energy. You can reel that in as a coach in the NBA, but it's far harder to find guys with that energy + physicality in the first place. I'd much rather have the guy that plays too hard than the player who doesn't play hard enough.
I'll also add, imo he's closer to Kawhi than Pat Williams was as a prospect. I just don't think that Williams had that tenaciousness and nose for the ball, and it's carried over to the NBA where he has a tendency to sometimes float around and become a bit invisible. For better or for worse, I don't think Eason will have that issue

Re: Tari Eason
Good stuff on Eason. I love him for the Hornets. We don't have a player who sets the tone on defense, and it seems Eason has the potential to do that early in his career like Herb Jones. Scoring 25 per 36 doesn't hurt either. He should he able to stay on the floor for a team hunting the playoffs. We will be picking 13 and I've settled on him for fit, upside and floor. His game demonstrates all three. I'm not going to get picky. He's very strong with the ball in his hands so the size and strength of NBA defenders won't shake him.

Eason and Bridges with Melo would be lots of fun.
