JHS would be putting up better stats as the main guy on Santa Clara than he is doing in the Big Ten. Just like Podz rebound % would be lower playing next to TJD.

Jalen Williams is a better physical athlete and overall taller and longer, those are important when jumping up to a higher level of competition. Def gives me pause he struggled to show much at Illinois. Still think he is draftable, but give me JHS over him all day.

Just not really seeing it with this guy as a lotto pick. You watch him play, he LOOKS like an NBA 2 guard. Good size, nice looking stroke, navigates ball screens well. But he just doesn't play within the flow of the offense and settles for a ton of long 2s. He has a long way to go to be an effective player with his current play style

Indiana plays in a dysfunctional offense. They play slow, they probably use more postups than any team in the country. They are constantly playing 2 guys that don't shoot threes, so the paint is crowded. I agree his shot selection is bad at times, but I think him playing in a more open game with easier, quicker reads will help with some of that.

Really hard to play downhill when you are constantly looking inside for a post player to create a passing lane. His ability at 6-6 to take one dribble and just rise over his defender and shoot his shot unaltered is what makes him a lottery pick IMO.

Guards with his size, handle, shot making and defensive potential aren't growing on trees at age 19.

On a team like Indiana, some options aren't available in spacing, but others are better. For example getting to some mid range is easier, open 3s. When evaluating guys like this, got to look at their offhand, layups, finish at the rim, etc. I see him more as a combo guard rather than PG but excellent size and solid ball handling with plenty of room to grow on defensive side. Private workouts will be huge for him.

I think he will be used similar to Derrick White if the defense/size/strength translates. If not maybe more in the Jaylen Nowell or Alec Burks type.

He looked pretty good in Indiana's last game the other night. His handle looked solid, he was getting to his spots, the shot making was impressive (3 3's in a row late in the game), and he looked pretty quick out there. The combination of size at 6'6" + shotmaking, + quickness + handle + getting to his spots + also had an impressive block on D...he's clearly a 1st rounder. #22 on my board at the moment..

It was basically as good a last game as he could have hoped for. I could see a team stretching on him and taking him closer to the lottery if they think he could be their backup back court. Toronto being the top team in that regard. Long term they could slot him behind FVV and GTJ.

If not I have him going in that 16-20 draft range.
