From Croatia Kresimir Nikic is kid to remeber. next big prospect from Croatia in line after Hezonja, Sarc and Bender. 99. born 7'0 center, doctors project him to go 7'2, 7'3 and he looks like he will get taller. I watched 2 games from him and can tell he is not fake or big hype. Comparisons with legends like Cosic, Gasol, Divac are legitimate. His skill level, mobility, basketball IQ is defentley top level for his age/stage of development. Watch out for him in nex 2-3 years

after watching him recently with his own HS team I can see the appeal and why his skill level is so touted. I still don't think he's better or has higher upside than Josh Jackson or Dennis Smith, I get the appeal though.

Smart kid, took good shots (didn't have many drop in the beginning) didn't force as much as i expected him to, defense was better than i expected, quick feet, smart digs in the post, not stellar athletically but reads the ball well off the glass and is very VERY long, plays smart back to the basket (nice fadeaway), ready off the catch (goes right into triple threat), doesn't rush with the ball after the catch.

Skillwise and IQ wise i get the ranking. better athletically than you would think but nowhere in the conversation of the other top guys in his class and i don't think the skill gap is that wide to make it debatable as far as NBA upside.

Yeah I'm not knocking him I just think upside is limited when you're an average athlete.. I was just shocked that he was so high on the scout top 100 list that is about pro potential when they'res at larry a handful of guys in his own class with bigger upsides

yeah I agree with you. Like I said taking upside into play he's far behind Josh Jackson, Dennis Smith, and Harry Giles as far as I'm concerned.

Watching that game just gave me a better understanding of why he's so highly regarded. Its kinda like Doug McDermott being the college POTY and Wiggins being drafted first (extreme example). Right now skillset weighing heavier than upside in everything outside of the draft argument even though the gap is wayyyyyyyy smaller than the example I used.

I haven't seen much of Blakeney but aren't him and Newmans game similliar? Both kinda combo guards

I saw Newman in those summer Olympics under 18 or whatever it was and he really impressed me with his scoring ability..I think he'll get buckets on any level he plays on

lol. i was trying to get some activity in the ncaa forum.

anywho, yeah both scoring guards for the most part. I don't think Newman heads there to be honest but the back court would be quite dynamic and perhaps having Blakeney back there with him forces Malik to tighten up his PG chops and make himself more presentable to the decision makers in the league.

They could also run offense through Ben and let him find Malik and Tony off ball would could benefit all parties.

If you've seen both play. How accurate is a Danny Manning comp for Harry Giles?

UA... remember i called that ish? ha. Word is he couldn't qualify @ wiscy in the fall after committing. the longer it dragged stone went with the program that will in turn fund the heck out of his camp/aau team. He would have been a better fit with my huskies; Jalen Adams ( future pro plays like devin harris) , Daniel hamilton (spectacular frosh season) , and a shot blocker to back him. we just in a **** conference
