Don Yates has some hot takes that even make me blush. Leonard Miller at 5! Cason Wallace at 4! Podz at 8! Brandon Miller at 7!

This guy really dgaf.

Brandon Miller at 7 or 8 in this class is exactly where he should be...Cason at 4 is actually a lot safer than people think, pretty straightforward prospect that's almost bust proof

Leonard at 5 tho Podz tho at 8 is def ballsy tho

they had a nice segment on Scoot during NBA today this afternoon. He has a great family and seems like such a good kid. I'm rooting for him. I kinda wish some other franchise besides CHA or POR could get him. He deserves better.

Scoot is a ready-made face of your franchise player...the fact that this is even a discussion @ 2 is mind bending to me

Jarace has elite combine stats, but none of it comes through at all in the games. He's not a great shot blocking presence, and he's a horrible interior scorer.

"Best athlete in the draft other than Victor" are you sure about that, why didn't he ever use any of these gifts at any point then.

He just chucked up a ton of midrange shots and missed most of them.

Like, if Jarace Walker could translate his combine numbers to actual games, he's an elite prospect... I don't know if that will happen though? Harrison Barnes was a combine monster and he never played athletic at all.

(How did Harrison Barnes have a 38 inch no-step at 230 pounds, that was amazing)

Harrison Barnes famously ranked his standing reach to get that vert. Similar to Podziemski this year.

The source is...look at his measurements and vert numbers. It's extremely obvious that he tanked his standing reach. Tanking is a really well known phenomenon by now. You can choose to ignore it but that doesn't make it any less true.

For anyone who's wondering...Podz measured with a standing reach 0.5" greater than Mike Miles who is 6' with a 6' wingspan. LMAO

I wasn't choosing to ignore it. Just genuinely wanted the context. Yea his standing reach seems suspect.

Thanks for the feedback. Arms down. No one is looking for a fight here.

Yeah, I’m completely at a loss with Charlotte’s thinking. How can you be so daft to draft for fit at #2?

I don’t care how amazing Miller looked when they brought him in. Real games are available, and Miller looked underwhelming vs. real comp and when it mattered. Forget the legal stuff, that’s not even part of my thinking here.

Scoot’s not perfect. He has plenty to work on as a shooter and defender. If he only improves at an average rate for a young player, he’s John Wall. If he really digs into it, he could be All-NBA and a near perfect leader for a high-caliber team. You pass on that for a guy that absolutely does not have the athletic tools to be a real star? I just don’t get it.

Big J wrote:I've seen Scoot drop to 3 in multiple mocks, and now his fanboys are in shambles trying to figure out what went wrong. Thing is, Miller is leapfrogging him because he is more typical of a superstar in the modern game. The length, the efficiency, the scoring the passing. It's not really surprising what is happening when you take off the homer goggles and take a few deep breaths. No team wants to build around an inefficient small point guard who is not very good defensively.

People sure put a lot of weight on some "intangibles" for a guy that never played a meaningful game of basketball in his entire life until this week. The G League is not only just meaningless basketball, it's actively horrendous, and in that environment of disgusting basketball the Ignite stand alone as exceptionally disgusting. Nobody coming out of multiple years in that program should be given any benefit of the doubt on intangibles, winning mentality, "dat dawg in him".

I wouldn't touch a player coming out of that program unless he was very tangibly elite, and then I would have to analyze the red flag of why he is on the Ignite. He might be 19 but it will take his full rookie contract to unlearn whatever he learned there for 2 years and learn the basics of actual team ball

Scoot looks terrible to me.

Spacing disappears when he come in and he doesn’t get team mates easy shots, can’t shoot and can’t do anything with his left hand.
