I don't think the people hyping up Scoot are wrong to say give it a bit longer before coming to any conclusions about him.
I do think the people bashing Miller and/or the Hornets need to take a big old bowl of eating crow by now however.
Those groups may have a lot of overlap but lets not pretend they are the exact same. I was a fan of both prospects FWIW, it was a great year to be in the top 3.

Who is bashing Miller right now? I don’t even see his thread on the first three pages of this board.

It's a joke that makes this forum unreadable at times. You see all these ridiculous hot takes littered all over the main board.
It's a Twitter-like cesspool here at times. There's some good posters that bring forth reasonable arguments but those seem to be few and far between nowadays.

Re: Scoot Henderson
it's silly to judge a guy's career prospects after three games, but the things that concerned me about scoot are manifesting early. as i've said probably multiple times in this thread, it's just really hard to be a great nba player when you're short and can't shoot. the thompson twins are struggling with their shooting, but with their size (as opposed to the smallish scoot), they (especially Ausar) have been able to affect the game as rebounders and defenders - size matters.
again, it's three games in so scoot may figure it out and become the next healthy version of Derrick Rose, but 3 games is all we have at this point, and i'm not surprised with anything i'm seeing out of him.

I don't see the point in trying to convince you that Miller and the Hornets got a ton of negativity this summer if you don't already know that.
And anyways, that wasn't my point, my point was that some people didn't take a toxic "either/or" mentality to the 2nd/3rd picks.

Re: Scoot Henderson
What's funny about most busts is that even the people claiming they didn't like them still had them ranked high. I'd like to see the people who had James Wiseman undrafted or Marvin Bagley as a second round pick. I had Bagley #7 and I thought that was fairly low. I had Wiseman 6. Clearly, not close to low enough on him.
So like I'm not taking laps on those guys, because I didn't see them as complete busts. So if you are here to tell me Scoot is a bust, show me your board and where you had him. If you had him top 10, then you did not think he'd be a complete bust. Therefore, you should not be claiming any victory whatsoever. You are just calling yourself out.
If you had him #10 you should be waiting patiently for him to figure it out and become a decent starter in the league because that is more like an average outcome for #10. This is not about having Scoot 2 vs 3. Because that is not what I am hearing here. I am not hearing any nuance whatsoever. What I am hearing is "Brandon Miller is a future star" and "Scoot is a complete bust after game 4".

i'm not here to tell you Scoot is a bust - again, that would be stupid and brainless at this point. But I did have very real concerns about the possibility he could bust prior to the draft. Despite those concerns, I had him at 3 (i think?). one of the reasons i had him at three was that while it's fun to think I'm the GOAT draft prognosticator, history tells me that isn't the case and i've learned over the years to have enough humility to recognize i might be wrong and trust the majority. so i kept him at 3. Similar deal with the Thompson twins. I personally had them outside the top 10, but because so many other people were high on them, I would have taken either for the Jazz at 9. Early returns are looking like i was wrong, the majority was right, so i was wise to give the majority some credit and would have been willing to take them earlier than i had them ranked personally.
i will pat myself on the back for having Ausar above Amen - that one is looking promising after this huge three game sample size.

Point is you had him 3 at the end of the day. That means you thought he was the third best prospect. So it would be weird, wouldn't it, to want to **** on him 4 games into his career.

I compared him to John Wall a middling to low efficiency floor riser type player. I still feel the same way I like Miller more but the season is still really young time will tell.

I had him at 5 below Wemby, Miller, and the twins and took all sorts of **** for doing that, so I'm not gonna pass up the opportunity to flex nuts at this point.

So you're clowning yourself.
You had him 5th on your board and you are calling him an immediate bust. What a great "scout" you are.

Re: Scoot Henderson
I don't think people think he's going to be a bust moreso it was a group or maybe one person that was clowning people who ranked Miller or anyone else above him like he was a generational prospect which isn't the case.EvanZ wrote:Big J wrote:

What exactly are you flexing?
You had him much more likely to succeed than fail if he was #5.

Believe me, he hasn't thought through his logic for even a few seconds lol. If he had thought about it, he wouldn't be taking laps.

I'm flexing that the other guys look better than he does. I never said he was going to end up as a complete bust. I actually comped him to Mike Conley & pre motorcycle Jay Williams and got clowned for it.

That's fine. Nobody is using a #2 pick in a loaded draft on Mike Conley though.
