2010 Busts and Musts

1.John Wall - Will turn into a superstar his sophomore year, will struggle with his shooting his rookie season.

2. Evan Turner- Is a tossup, he could either be the next star or a dissapointment. I have a feeling Doug Collins will try to make him do things he is not comfortable with so it just depends on how well he reacts to criticism.

3.Derrick Favors- I can see him as a better Antawn Jamison/Al Harrington type player. He won't have the toughness to ever be on a championship team.

4.Wesley Johnson- Will eventually be a Shawn Marion/Gerald Wallace hybrid once he gets comfortable. It may take up to his third season for him to reach the 20ppg mark.

5.DeMarcus Cousins- Will develop the way his is suppose to because of having Dalembert his rookie season. He won't do much his first season similiar to Spencer Hawes but eventually will turn into a Jamaal Magloire type player.

6.Ekpe Udoh- I dont think this is a horrible pick. He is basically someone to get all the rebounds from missed Monta and Curry shots in a Don Nelson system. Look at him as a Chuck Hayes with athleticism that can block shots which isn't the worst thing in the world, just not a star. He will be injury prone and will never average more than 8ppg.

7.Greg Monroe- Will struggle with his weight his whole career and will have one 17ppg 9 rebound type season then get a huge contract. He is basically a smarter Eddy Curry with some Oden tendancies.

8.Al-Farouq Aminu- Basically a Travis Outlaw clone with a much better offensive skillset. He will stick in the league for a while and might eventually turn into a Josh Howard/Al Thornton type player.

9.Gordon Haywood- Will have either have a 10 year career in the league being an ok player or will end up injured and out of the league by the end of his rookie contract. He will have one good season with the Jazz and will never be a star is my prediction.

10. Paul George- Was the best possible pick here. If Granger gets traded for a PG, then George has the possibility of being a go to guy in the future

11.Cole Aldrich- A poor man's Brad Miller, but a rich man's Curtis Borchardt. He will fill the role Nick Collison does but much cheaper and with more bulk.

12.Xavier Henry- Will be productive if he gets Rudy Gay type minutes. Useless if Gay is on the roster.

13. Ed Davis- will be a Melvin Ely/Chris Wilcox type player. Won't be a star but will stick in the league as a roleplayer who does a few small things well.

14.Patrick Patterson- A sleeper, I can see this guy eventually in a the starting lineup

15.Larry Sanders- Marcus Haislep 2.0, enough said

16. Luke Babbit- Just a small asset to be used in a future Portland trade, too many better players ahead of him. Luke Jackson and Joe Alexander type player but might turn into a Korver.

17.Kevin Seraphin- He is Kevin Durant if Kevin Durant had no scoring skills. Will be a roleplayer on a championship team at some point in his career because of his quickness

18.Eric Bledsoe- Will have a long career in the league as a combo guard.

19. Avery Bradley- He will be the next Joe Forte, will be out of the league pretty quickly

20. James Anderson- Will stick in the league because he listens to coaches and can provide energy and scoring. He is basically a Derek Fisher type player

21. Craig Brackens- A great backup for West, might eventually replace him one day.

22.Elliot Williams- A lifelong backup in the league, taken as a backup to Roy and in case they trade Fernandez

23.Trevor Booker- Chris Richard, Chris Massie and Ryan Gomes at a cheaper price all rolled into one.

24.Damion Jones- will be an Eddie House type player in this league.

25.Dominique Jones- Wouldn't have done anything for the Grizzlies, but with the Mavs he will be given the time to craft his game. He will play minutes in this league at some point

26.Quincy Pondexter- He will either be the next Bonzi Wells or the next Jerryl Sasser.

27.Jordan Crawford- Should have gone much higher, but his one dimentional game scared off teams.

28.Greivis Vasquez- Grizzlies love Marko Jaric, Juan Carlos Navarro type players, so he was the natural guy to pick to backup Mayo.

29.Daniel Orton- They should have packaged him with former 1st round Frans Vasquez to move up. Probably should have packaged the two for Ian Mahami and James Anderson.

30. Lazar Hayhwood- I can see this guy suprising a ton of people. He just has that look of someone who wants to surpise people

How is Udoh not a horrible pick if he'll be injury prone and never average more then 8ppg?

Yeah the commentary on every pick is basically words written down. You provide no expertise as to why you feel that way about those players. I bet you couldn't even remember what you wrote about half of them.

Curious as to why Monroe will struggle with his weight his hole career but Cousins wont

Somebody's been reading and idolizing a little bit too much Chad Ford nonsense!

The ceiling for the best center in the draft is Jamaal Magloire?!?!? I can understand boom or bust, but that's just ridiculous on its face.

Sadly, I pretty much felt the same way. Seemed like the descriptions were written down, put in a hat, and drawn at random.

Stopped reading after the 3rd one. Yeah, Derrick Favors who has NO offensive game and will be huge is comparable to 2 undersized PFs who are exceptionally skilled offensive player that play no defense. Right on. :o

My favorite critiques are those of Cousins, Aminu, Damion "Jones", Seraphin, Trevor Booker, and Daniel Orton (because it doesnt actually say anything about Orton).

Who could have guessed that Shawn Kemp at age 19 would ever be considered fat one day?

its just a gut feeling that he will have issues with it at some point.

lets wait till the end of the season when I will be right about at least half of these players and you won't be seen anywhere to admit you were wrong.

Hubie Brown used to be old and wise. Now he's just senile apparently.
