They haven't updated a huge chunk of the major prospects pages in forever.
This seems to be a consistent thing for them for years now.
You got guys that are very possible to go lotto who haven't been updated since November or December.
A guy like Cory Joseph hasn't been updated in a year and month.
And why don't they do best case/worst case comparisons anymore?
I'm never one to rely on those, but they are interesting and fun to see, especially when you look back on them years later in hindsight.
I still think DX is probably the best overall out there, but it's like they know most people think that so they use it as a license to slack.
I mean they aren't some little blog, they are a major draft website that everyone and their mother that's into the NBA and NCAA ball uses, from fans to FO's and media.
What gives?

"DX, Jonathan Givony, you're better then that."

They normally kick it up a notch once it starts getting a little more closer to the draft and more information comes in with workouts and athletic testing. They always do bcs/wcs, just not this early.
I can't wait for them to start doing more podcasts.

They don't have enough time to update the major prospects' pages because they're so busy updating the pages of Euro players who will never come to the NBA, late 1st rounders who no one has ever heard of, and D-league guys.

Yeah, right now Givony is off in Europe, clogging my twitter feed with endless updates about players I never have nor will have heard of. So he's not avoiding work, but he's not doing work most people care about, either.

And how much are we paying for DX's services again?
Hey, the guy has to make a living. My understanding is that Givony consults for some European teams, so it's natural that he spends time on marginal NBA prospects.
And I agree that they tend to kick things up as the draft approaches. More info coming in, etc.

well, best and worst case are usually done just few days b4 the draft
also he usually don't update players profile more than once during college season(and Euro regular season too)
ad in comparison to NBAdraft.net profiles and rankings he is much better
most of his job is done after the lottery announced until the draft
also I won't deny that he is wasting a lot of time o some players that will ever play in the league

DX hasn't been a draft site in years. It seems Givony is angling for a job as an international scout.

Givony already is getting paid by teams to scout players, and my guess is he makes quite a bit more that way than he does through advertising on DX.
Can't blame him, though it does suck as a fan. Hopefully it picks up in the next week with the lotto coming up.

Isn't he already an international scout?

Yeah, he does some scouting work for some Euro teams. I meant that he might be angling to get an NBA gig.

I remember the days when he would reply to a thread like this in a polite pissed off manner.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
What players do you guys think need updates? We'll do Cory Joseph. He's on the list with a few other guys (like Honeycutt, Tristan Thompson, Kawhi Leonard, Knight who we all posted this last week).
By my count we've written 500-1000 word scouting reports on over 100 prospects this season (which essentially runs from October to April). All the major ones (except Kanter) have been updated in the last few months. I don't think that any of the top 50 guys are out of date in any way, but please let me know if I'm mistaken.
I do make a good part of my income through scouting consulting for teams in the NBA and Europe (as well as China and Australia), but I still feel like DX is by far the most comprehensive website on the net and not by a small margin. Maybe I'm biased though. Let me know what you guys are missing and we'll do it.
Best case/worst case scenarios is something I dread doing. There really is very little benefit because you can't really get them exactly right and people take them completely out of context and then use them against you.

And I'm not angling for anything by the way. If my goal was simply to be a NBA scout I could have accomplished that years ago. If I wanted to be an NBA executive that could have happened already too. I have the best job in the world and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
Please do remember that its a free 100% independent website.

This is 100% true. I like DX scouting reports the best but for mocks Chad Ford is my go to guy atleast for Pistons info.

As long as you avoid the Deshawn Stevenson/Michael Jordan comparison, I think you'll be fine.

I think that you guys do a great job with your website, it's the first place I usually go to look at prospects

Hey man, your website is still hands down the best out there for the draft and NCAA's and scouting reports, no question, it's not biased to say that even if it's yours.
My only gripe is I would love to see multiple scouting updates on guys like you used to do back in the day.
A lot of times you do a scouting report on a guy like 5 to 10 games into the season who has really changed as a player but then never do a follow up in April to see how he finished out.
A lot of times it's hard to tell if it was a small sample size heater they were on and then regressed to past year's form or they really took the next step without the end of the year look back report.
Especially the case is with guys that are freshmans or sophomores, where a late season wrap up is really needed to get the total picture.
As for the best case/worst case scenarios, I fully understand what you're saying, people take them too literal and put more stock into a quick glance at them then they do your full scouting report and maybe tend to judge you and the player on them, but I for one love them, they're fun to look back on a couple years after a guy is in the league and at least give a base to compare my own thoughts on.
Hope no hard feelings on the thread title, but I knew it would be an attention getter, you obviously put a ton of work in and are still the best and most thorough out there even if it's not as constantly updated as a few years ago.

You're absolutely correct that your site is the best out there by a very wide margin, I rely on it almost exclusively for draft info. Thanks for all the work you guys do.
Do you think you will be doing more podcasts soon?

I don't take the best/worst case scenario as a literal he will be as good as this guy, for me it's just a simple way to judge how a certain guy plays. Sometimes it's easier to digest that a guy plays like so and so as opposed to going through his strengths and weaknesses with a fine tooth comb.
I don't know if assessing a prospect's potential role in the NBA as opposed to a direct comparison to a current/former NBA player would be better.

Hey Jonathan, do you know what Kanter's measurements are yet?
Your site it always the first I go to, to look at measurements, and I also really enjoy the strengths/weaknesses videos.
Anyways, back to my question. If the measurements haven't happened yet, do you know when they will be happening?
