Re: Who should the pistons draft?
Tristan Thompson is a career role player, who should be an energy guy off the bench for a good team. He is not a starter in NBA
He's 6'7.5" w/o shoes, poor defensive rebounder, poor FT shooter, raw offensively, undersized (just 224lb) and nothing really outstands other than blocks. He is a 20 year old freshman, so he's a year or two older than other players in their rookie NCAA season
Athletic, undersized, raw offensively, poor def. rebounding n FT ability...........Pistons already have Maxiell, not another short big man. Joe Dumars emphaizes the need of adding more size in the post, Thompson at 6'7.5" w/o shoes and just 225lb defintiely doesnt fit the bill
U dont use your top ten pick on a guranteed role player. Its like u dont use ur lottery pick on Jason Maxiell. Tristan Thompson would've been a late first round/early second round pick in a better draft. And players of his size and ahtleticism is not difficult to find in the second round

Looks like a good chance Biyombo is there at 8, he'd be great value there

Pistons should check what they have in Jerebko. Daye should get a chance at sf. I'd probably go for a pg or sg. That's where they have the biggest problems imo.

At 6'10", 240lb. i believe Jerebko can play some PF.
I hope Ben Wallace stays, if he does.........we can afford to draft a pg at 8th

SG is easily our most filled position. Rip was playing great at the end of the season and im certain BG will get back to his old self if given a guaranteed starting spot. many people also think stuckey is a SG (i dont). our biggest need is a defensive big man to put next to monroe followed by a SF. Jerebko will probably back up both SF and PF and daye is terrible defensively so i dont think he should start. stuckey was lighting it up the last couple months of the season and looked like an allstar PG so i think he should stay there for now. we need to draft a guy like biyombo, thompson, or valanciunas even.

Jerebko is like a taj gibson type off the bench. i would really hate it if we decided to go with him as our starting PF. why would we settle for jerebko as our 2nd big man when there will most likely be 3 big men available who could easily be better than him?

If Biyombo is there at #8, he is a perfect compliment for Monroe IMO.

Re: Who should the pistons draft?
I wouldn't mind Biyombo at 8, but I'm kind of hoping a PG slips to us...not Jimmer. 2nd round would like to see a big, if a pg is taken at 8...or a PG if the opposite is true. Problem for a 2nd round PG is its really slim pickings once Darius Morris is off the board.
Rumored late 2nd. I've read some places that the Pistons have a pick coming from Denver, that would be the 52nd pick. But I've also seen pretty reliable sites not show that either. If we get it, I really hope that Oakland Universitys' Keith Benson falls to us. Would be nice for Oakland to see him go higher. If thats true, then go Euro. No more Alex Acker type players please.

I'm hoping he isn't, because we snatch him up earlier.

Re: Who should the pistons draft?
If I'm a Piston's fan, I pray Bismack is still there, and the GM doesn't settle on Vesely - yet another long forward to fit in with the collection there. I think Vesely is the single most overrated player in the draft, but that's another issue.

Re: Who should the pistons draft?
What type of player is Monroe? I am confused sometimes. He is not a stretch 5, not athletic and not offensively skilled. But he has length at a little bit more than 6'11", the motor, the high bball iq and passing abilty. So what sort of player is the best complement??
Apparently the Pistons may need an athletic, defensive big but at the same time, he needs to be able to put the ball into the basket since Monroe is not very good at that.
I can't think of anyone. Biyombo's elite athleticism is ideal, since he is probably a top 5 athlete in the Nba, and a great shotblocker. Those are in his genes. But he is not very good at scoring, neither is TT.
I still think Valanciunas is probably the best partner of Monroe, who's seen as the core piece of Pistons future. Nikola Vucevic, though not athletic at all, is at least a 7footer, with a 7'4.5" wingspan, skilled offensively and a decent defender n rebounder.
There is no Demarcus Cousins in this draft.
