Anyone else seen him play? Comparisons?

The comparison people are using are Wilson Chandler. I'd also throw in Kawhi Leonard.

He should be an athletic SF who can rebound, finish baskets on the break and should be a good motor and defensive effort guy. He probably needs to shoot better to be a long term starter but I think his rebounding and athleticism make him a guaranteed NBA player. He doesn't have quite the ball skills, IQ or shooting of MKG but I'd easily rather have him 20th than MKG 2nd

Harkless is on my shortlist for players that could be ranked outside of the top 20 2 weeks before the draft and then all of a sudden is going 7th or 8th because teams like players who are young and athletic and project as contributing to more of a defense/rebounding culture. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he goes above Harrison Barnes

Poor mans Wilson Chandler.

The way he plays reminds me a little bit of Rudy Gay, though I don't think he'll ever quite be on Rudy's level. I do like him quite a bit as a player though and think that he'll be a solid contributor in the league.

I think he will be the 2nd best small forward after Michael Gilchrist. His play is so fluid and effortless. If he gains at least 10 lbs to 228, he will start for many nba teams. I see him as a Grant Hill type player with more offense. He will be better than Paul George IMHO.

also, i would like to add that I will not be surprised if he skyrockets to top 8 after workouts two weeks before the draft. I will not be surprised even if he goes ahead of Harrison Barnes or MKG.
The guy has a lot of talent and has the looks to go with it.

Wouldnt surprise me at all if he and mkg became similar players. At least his shot form is better.
I didnt track him as a prep so i cant comment on his learning curve.

I cant really call it. Kawhi's probably the comparison i agree with the most, but i think moe has a bit more agility and fluidity to his movement.

Hopefully, his shooting range improves like Kawhi's, but I'm not sure if Harkless has the strength to hang with Kawhi or MKG.

He's definitely more fluid than explosive but I think teams can sell themselves on the upside

His wingspan seems like it's really long. That will help him. If guys like Julian Wright and Al-Farouq went lotto based on being young and long I think Harkless has a good chance.

Harkless' stock would probably be higher if St. Johns had more national attention. He's a really active player and even though he's still raw, he has a great energy level, some promising defensive instincts and looks like he can guard multiple positions on the floor if needed. He could be a steal in the mid to late first.

He really grabbed my attention when he dropped 30 on Duke. If he can develop a consistent jumper, he looks like he has the potential to be one of the best players of this class regardless of where he is selected.

Ford has him going in the 20s. No where to go but up now IMO.

Kid is severly underrated, I'll just say that. If he goes late first, someone is getting a real steal.

I think him and Kawhi Leonard are pretty similar, and I see a lot of Gerald Wallace in Leonard.

I don't love the Leonard or Wallace comparisons, because I think Harkless has a lot more upside offensively. I can't really think of a great comparison for him off the top of my head.

I really liken him to a Paul George. Coming out of college George had without question NBA range with his shot, Harkless is still a work in progress. However they both have nice wingspans, similar frames coming out of college. I do believe Harkless is one of the more underrated prospects in this draft, but that comes with the territory of going with St John's until we get that program back up and running.

Oddly, this post made me think that Danny Granger coming out of college was a decent comparison for Harkless.

I thought Granger could create his own shot a lot better and again had the range Harkless doesn't have yet. Granted Granger and George both spent more time in college to refine the shot, but they all have similar builds which makes the comparison easy to make.
