This was a really good watch. Definitely the most likeable guy in the draft...

There have been a number of comments on various sites that Adams is a bit off hand and casual in his attitude but having watched this draft develop it is clear that this is far from reality. Adams has run a meticulously planned draft campaign, has great advisors and mentors and has hit a few home runs on the way through. He went back to NZ after the NCAA season and spent time with his personal coach and mentor Kenny McFadden (ex Washington State) who runs a Basketball development progam in NZ. They clearly worked on the weaker areas of his game including is mid range jumper. He signs up with a top management agency and has been working with Brian Scalabrine among others in LA leading up to the combine and during the draft process.

Adams turns up to the combine and nails it. Shows a surprising (to scouts and GM's but one suspects not to his management team) mid range jumper and then shows off the athleticism and agility they all really knew was there.

This process has been carefully planned and is not the hallmark of an offhand casual approach but Adams climb up the draft boards has been the result of a great deal of careful planning and hard work which suggests that this guy might just make a pretty decent professional.
