Andrew Wiggins is not a lock at #1?

Jeff Goodman - "During one three-hour practice, Wiggins misfired on jumper after jumper, took plays off and was practically invisible. Sure, he showed glimpses of the athleticism that have some putting him in elite company with NBA superstars.

NBA scouts - "Maybe he'll wind up getting there this season, but he's a long, long way off right now," said another NBA guy who came through Lawrence in the preseason. "He looks like just another player. I've seen him a few times in the past, and to be honest, he hasn't been off-the-charts any of those times. I love his athleticism, but I worry about his intensity -- as well as other aspects of his game. He doesn't shoot it great, and he's got zero aura about him. Again, I'm not saying he can't get there -- but people are making far more of this kid than they should."

And the second:
"I certainly wasn't blown away by him," said one high-ranking NBA executive. "He was just OK. Average. I'm just not buying all this no-brainer stuff about him being the No. 1 pick. I just don't see it yet."

They managed all this scouting off a 3 hour practice now? The season hasn't even begun yet!

of course he isnt a lock. he is yet to play 1 second of college basketball. if he came right out of highschool to the draft the yea, he'd have gone #1 for sure. but a year of college ball can change opinions 1 way or antoher.

remember when shabaz muhammed was gonna be the #1 pick?

not saying that wiggins wont go #1, but its certainly a long way from being a lock

Of course he's not a lock, **** happens during a season. God forbid he gets a major injury like Noel. He's a #1 pick right now because of his potential anyway so I doubt he'll get out of #1 unless he does really bad.

What would be funny is if he stays in Kansas for another season. Still a lot of good prospects on board but the reaction of tanking GMs would be priceless.

I got Jabari Parker going #1, too skilled and is more athletic than people give him credit for.

I read some sources James Young from UK is creeping up on draft boards and some think he may get picked #1, I doubt it but that's whats being said.

GM's and his college coaches are saying he is to passive.

I could see him drop. This draft is too deep for any question marks in that #1 pick.

Thats what happens when youre in the spotlight for his class as long as he has been. one wrong doing and your a huge story with question marks all over your face. Its not fair - but this is the buisness.

those were the same criticisms that were said about him in HS. spectacular athlete with a ton of potential on both ends, but he has a tendency to float, is pretty damn skinny and needs a lot of a work on his actual basketball skill.

There is no such things as a lock for #1 a year before he can even be drafted, remember that Shabazz Muhammed was supposed to be number 1 and look were he is.

He should be number 1 REGARDLESS, hopefully teams learn their lesson if Wiggins has a sub-par year after seeing Drummond showcase the potential everyone was talking about when he was in high school, after a disappointing college season.
