What's the best case scenario for Burton in this draft? How high can he climb up draft boards? He's the most athletic point guard in the draft and is a very good 2 way player. Why isn't he higher on draft boards? Ya he's not exactly a point guard but that hasn't stopped teams from taking guys like that high.
Can he be a starting point guard in the league? What will his role be?

i think he has the potential to be out of the league 2 yrs after he's drafted.
senior PGs should have more skill and have a better feel for the game and their position than he has.

He was good from day one, maybe he has not gotten better but that does not mean he didn't show the tools from day one

Good to see Deonte Burton getting some love...Most people have no clue how good this kid is. Reno is very rarely on TV so you don't get to see how good he is. He hasn't had much help throughout his career at Reno and he is now forced to do a lot and play just about the whole game to keep the team competitive.
He has been on the NBA radar now for about two years and almost declared after a stellar Sophomore year. He is an NBA caliber player and could be a steal for someone early in the second round. I personally think someone may take a look at him at the end of the first round. A lot of the highly touted point guards i.e. Harrsion, Kasey Hill Yogi Ferell haven't done as well as expected. This year's crop of PG is not as loaded as last years draft class. I thought he was better than Ray Macculum whose is now getting time with the Kings and was a late second rounder last year.

I'd disagree with that, I think Jahii is more athletic
Burton looks like a 2nd rounder to me. Don't think he has enough to his game outside of driving to the basket, somewhat similar to BJ Young last draft

Burton has range to the NBA three point line. I wouldn't call him a deadly shooter by any stretch of the imagination, but he light years ahead of BJ Young. BJ young couldn't toss a pebble into the ocean with that jacked up shot. And yea, Jahii is a freak athlete, unpolished from the outside. I don't think Burton has that type of athleticism. Everyone looks at that clip of him dunking and thinks he has Steve Francis type ups.
Side note...For the life of me I could never understand why the top Draft Boards had BJ Young as a potential lottery pick for most of last year.
Count me in as far as being on the Burton bandwagon. Most people don't know about him since he plays for Nevada and isn't on TV a ton. The kid committed early to Nevada and could have de committed after blowing up his senior year in high school and a lot of the PAC 10 schools at the time showing interests. He was really an under the radar prospect coming out of high school.
He is now starting to get some love nationally, but he has been on NBA scouts radar since his soph year.
