What is Stanley Johnson's natural NBA position? What is his floor and ceiling?

Stan's a 3 through and through to me. maybe MAYBE some 4 in a very small ball situation but i think he's a 3 throughout his career.
as far as floor and ceiling floor MWP ceiling prolonged prime Artest.
i really think the Artest comparison is ideal for Stan, i do however feel like he'll be able to give a little playmaking as well and a more stable mindset on the court.

I didn't get to watch the whole game, but Johnson looked like a turnover machine against UC Irvine, and they aren't exactly known as a top-notch defense.

I don't see him being the first SF off the board. He's my 3rd rated one right now behind Winslow and Oubre. I wouldn't be surprised if Jabari Bird leaps him when it's all said and done as well.

Those numbers are LeBronians, he is not the same athlete, although he is a good one, but with his skill set, and him playing likely SG at Arizona, improving his already advanced guard skills, he played everything from 1-4 at Mater Dei, and his outside shot, mixing that with his aggressive game and winning attitude, defensive minded game and work ethic… can he be in the conversation for 1st overall?
He might grow another inch and get even stronger, a 6'9 250 point-forward with that type of skills…
He can be a saner/better scorer Ron Artest.
Watching this Maui game I keep thinking I can't believe how huge he is for a wing, and how he is all over the floor. He already looks more ready to me for the NBA than Aaron Gordon did at any time last year.
LeBron popped into my mind as being another wing with his type of size, but I couldn't compare them because I don't know if he has pg type skills. The Ron Artest comp sounds perfect now that I have watched him in a real game against a quality opponent.

Keep sleeping on Stanimal. MVP of the Maui tourney.
I made sure to say 'Bear Down Arizona!' at the end of our broadcast. That was for Wildcat Nation. -NBC Anchor Brian Williams

He is going to be a better offensive player than prime Artest, at least a more regular saner guy, he gets to the line at a ridiculous rate.
I think stronger bigger current Jimmy Butler is a proper comp.

I think he should lean out a bit and play at 225-230.

I think this is the rare occasion where a guys body type is actually tailored towards keeping the weight on. The Artest comp is more than just play style, they have almost the exact same body structure. Prime Artest was around 250 and carried it extremely well, I think Johnson can do the same.

I'll eat crow for this. He's 2nd on my board right now, but I wouldn't take him over Winslow. Oubre is still so raw.

He is the ultimate team player who actually has a real NBA position we will excel at in the NBA. I like the floater game he has especially in transition. he is a complete player already. A positive is that he is playing within the flow of the offense and not forcing the issue.

Yeah I really like him. I think he will be one of those players who can do everything well but not one thing great. His game resembles a prime Tayshaun Prince to me. Obviously not body wise and he seems more athletic but he looks like a pretty safe pick too me right now.

He's getting beat a lot off the drible and allowing middle penetration.

Yup, not really a good defensive showing today.

How does he compare against Wiggins and Parker as a NBA prospect?

he's more ready than Wiggins and a better defender than Parker. should be able to defend 2 maybe 3 positions depending on the lineups. doesn't have the ceiling of Wiggins but maybe MAYBE a higher floor than both due to his defense and role player potential.

Around the end of last year's college season, I honestly thought Stanley Johnson was no worse of a prospect than those guys for the most part (I am not a believer in Wiggins upside, and I think Parker's floor wasn't all that certain).
