What do you guys think of Henry Ellenson? I think he looks talented, a bit of Kevin Love in him. Does he fit in the modern NBA though as a 4?

Prototypical stretch 4. Needs to get stronger, and iron out his shot a bit more.
#6 on chad ford's mock right now.

I like Ellenson, but I don't love him. I see him getting around 6 or 7 rebounds per game in his prime because he isn't great at boxing out and is a little soft on defense. He's agile for someone at that height and should be good at pick and roll as well as pick and pop. In the right system he can be a really good scorer. I don't think he can play in an offense with quick pace.

Very skilled, will need to work on his rebounding and jumper. Moves in a shockingly similar fashion to Dirk. Great vision for a guy that size. Still unsure as to what type of pro he'll be. Still seems to be finding his way.

Agree with most here. I thought at the beginning of the year he was at least a year away from declaring but he's upped his game as of late. I'd take him over Labissiere who's looked like trash in the games i've seen him play.

Sorry for white guy comparison, but he looks like he could be Ryan Anderson-ish. Good shooter from deep, midrange, and high post, can also do stpebacks and back-downs to get off his own shot. Also got a solid IQ and sense of timing.

He looks a little less nimble and energetic than Ryno, could change with NBA conditioning though. Clear why he's a top-10 prospect, but I also get why lots of folks aren't thrilled with his upside.

He is not nowhere near Anderson as a shooter as of today, he remembers me, especially physically to Singler, although he is bigger.

He was also a fat kid growing up. He transformed himself coming into college. Hit footing is a little heavy right now, but he could definitely get better as he gets comfortable in his skin.

I don't think he's the rebounder Love is.

I like the Ryno comp, although with less range right now.

If Singler were as big as Ellenson, he'd be a much more valuable player. Ellenson is an improving player who's gotten himself in much better shape, and he's really improved everywhere - including rebounding. I don't know if people realize it, but he's got legit center size and has gotten a lot stronger.

He is huge indeed but he is still really weird in terms of athleticism and how he moves, and he still takes terrible shots.

He's got a bunch of potential, but like a lot of freshman it's going to depend on changing his body for the nba. I think he shows a bunch of similarities to Love, people forget job pudgy Love was in college. I think if Elleson can put on muscle similar to Love he might even be a better rebounder, that's a big if though. Their low post game is very similar, Love was a better shooter his freshman year but Elleson is starting to shoot at a higher %. I think Elleson could very well go in the top five.

Right, there are similarities, but there are significant differences. Love's skill level was off the charts for a freshman. He wasn't just a great shooter and rebounder, he was a great outlet passer, perimeter passer, and interior passer. Every move he made on the offensive end, he was a step ahead of his opponent. And his defense was lousy. Ellenson isn't at the offensive level Love was, but he's developing into a player who should be solid defensively, imo.

I know one thing for a fact, he is a worse prospect than Juancho.

But draftexpress has Ellenson going 7th and Juancho 26th, so Ellenson must be better.

I wouldn't touch Juancho in the 1st round, Ellenson is a much better prospect..

Juancho looks like Kevin love on defense tho, i give him that

Juancho is all over the place defensively he needs to learn to pick his spots and improve in terms of pacing himself, but he is active, the issue is experience, he is a late bloomer and he hasnt gotten much playing time ahead of this season.
Juancho would eat Ellenson's lunch as of today and his ceiling is much higher.
