He will be ok defensively but what else?

Read my posts on the last page, I even forgot to mention he has good potential defensively. His biggest weakness is that he isn't a PG, not a very big critical weakness. I'm having trouble coming up with any weaknesses really..

Tad short for a SG, but really long wingspan

Will have to transition to fitting into an NBA offense

Lacks top level athleticism, but still a good athlete.

A lot of players in this draft would kill for those to be their only weaknesses

I dont understand what you did here, that is definitely an incomplete list. Just off the top of my head Damian Lillard was a senior and Kelly Olynyk was a senior. Age is what matters also, Cauley Stein just went 6th, he was 8 months younger than what Hield will be when drafted, many more cases just like that. Kris Dunn is 3 months younger than Hield.

Lillard was junior, same with KO.

No, actually they were seniors. Lillard was in school from 08/09 to 11/12 and Olynyk was in school from 09/10 to 12/13

That is a list, of college seniors, who were drafted in the Lottery (top 14 picks) the last 10 years.

Respert was under-sized for the NBA. He still hung around despite the stomach cancer that eventually killed him.

He isn't a PG, why does he need great vision and...creativity?? Not sure what that even means. He is really crafty and creative going to the rim imo if that's what you mean. His handle is more than fine for a SG and has improved tremendously during his time at Oklahoma, his vision is more than fine for a SG. He is pretty explosive, I've seen him throw down plenty of sick dunks, I see him blow by defenders often. Like I said his athleticism is good by NBA standards.

I don't know what some of you are watching, this kid is damn good prospect

It's a simple wikipedia search. In Lillard's and Olynyk's case they did a medical redshirt lol

Ill take your word on it (Wikipedia isn't exactly ironclad)

But...
For Kelly Olnyck, he apparently missed the 2011-2012 season. (just redshirted... Non-Medical reasons... REALLY fishy now)
So, his 4th year in college, was only the 3rd year (in the NCAA eyes?)
So, he was drafted as junior... TECHNICALLY...

Lillard, was Medically redshirted shortly into his junior season,
Which allowed his 4th season in college, to count as his Junior season

So, KO, and DL, NOT technically seniors when they were drafted, but, were 4 year college players.

I will go ahead and say that my initial list didn't go DEEP into each lotto pick of the last 14 years, but only looked at what they were designated as... Senior, Junior, Sophomore, Freshman ...
So, there totally could be more names added to that list (which I will not add, because they were not 4 YEAR SENIORS)

You keep taking one thing I say and just replying to it with non sense, now are you saying that a SG needs to have great vision and creativity?? Let's end this conversation here and just agree to disagree. Try stringing together a sentence or two if you want to get a point across next time

In the context of this thread, what does this matter? It isn't like missing a season somehow made them a better prospect....?

I think people aren't taking the weakness of this draft into consideration when deciding whether Hield should be a top ten pick. Also, people are really discounting Hield's ability to be a big time scorer without having to dominate the ball and bog down the offense. That is a rare skill.

You're right, you quoted me after contesting the other poster who made the Roy comp. And its already been stated why he isn't a top 10 guy plenty, by me and others.

Well what I do know for a fact is that most americans posters are out in international prospects knowledge and this class is loaded with intl, it could feature almost 15 guys in the top40.
So not paying much attention to other people's rankings or the supposed weakness or lack there of, if that is what is been used to bump Hield stock.
