Jamal Murray?

Why no thread on him? The kid is a freshman and lighting it up. Let's keep tabs on him going forward for the tourney, shall we. Heck, the Great Simmons didn't even come close, all the while Murray is wrecking havoc.

Same reason Stephen Curry had no hype when he was drafted #6 ... Jamal is going to be the best player to come out of this draft.

His phenomenal play is ignored, while Simmons and Ingram's bad play is excused; and I love Ingram.

I'm not a fan.. undersized, and under-athletic. Benefits from a great situation. Reminds me of a poor man's OJ Mayo, with worst defense.

He's going to be a scorer in the league, but I don't think he's going to be as good as people expect him to be. I see a 6th man kind of player.

his floor is really good, but what's his ceiling? he's in control and he can shoot / score, that alone should ensure a pretty long career in the league as a useful player. (barring injury.)

Isn't he literally Jamal Crawford? same size, same strength / weakness, probably even going to be taken at around the same spots. but Crawford's ability to make tough shots is out of this world.

I do feel like he looks a bit chubby to me, i.e i think his athleticism would look better once he gets in the NBA program

Jamal Murray seems really good moving off the ball. Reminds me of shorter Rip with better handles and playmaking or McCollum. I think he'd be a good second option.

I think he has a lot more control and higher b-ball IQ than Crawford, which can make him a pretty lethal player.

6th man is what I see as well. Excellent poise and ability as a scorer though.

At the same time I think he's going to get better looks in the NBA. I could see him getting better shots from the three point line and off of screens. I think he has a chance to be great offensively if he can learn to play the way Doug McDermott plays by using more floaters, driving on open lanes, etc.

On the Bulls board right now, people are talking about how they project Doug going forward and his role. It took some growing pains, but his offense is finally blooming, and he looks like someone who could be a 15-20ppg scorer. Despite this, a lot of people think he'd be best suited as a gunner off the bench due to his inability in other areas, at least based on what we've seen from him so far (liability defensively, not rebounding at a great rate, doesn't really fill up the stat-sheet outside of points, needs to be fed to score).

I see similar things with Murray. He has great scoring ability.. but if you're an NBA team, is he your ideal starting 2? Unless he becomes a McCollum level scorer in the NBA, I don't think you do (which he could, but it's a high benchmark to assume at this stage). I don't mean to compare Doug and Jamal as players, obviously, but I feel like you'd need a particular roster makeup to ideally balance Murray's pro's and con's if he's one of your key cogs.

Exactly what I'm saying. I don't think Murray is McCollum though. At the same time he's only 19 and already where McCollum was at 22. Also not saying he's McDermott, but he would succeed in making the same adjustment at the pro level.

Mayo isn't a bad comp but how much of his "meh" career is based on his own issues rather than talent....that is the difference for a lot of dudes. Steph is an insane shooter but lost in all of that is all the work he put into his handle and other ****. That is the actual separator for these guys

He's better than booker and booker is going to be a star. Point capable on offense. His defense needs work but with enough work i expect him to be a 20 point 5 assist guy and a couple all star games

Brandon Ingram has emerged as the most probable candidate to challenge Ben Simmons for the first overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft.

According to the projections of Kevin Pelton, Ingram would qualify as the second-best prospect just once in the past nine drafts (2012 behind Anthony Davis).

Ingram is not far ahead of Jamal Murray based on Pelton's projections.
