Sounds like what Ford wrote in his mock. I'm sure we'll get to see him 4-6 times over the next few weeks in the tourney. I like what I read, and would be pretty happy if the Suns take Chriss or him with the Washington pick if it ends up being unprotected.

The way the game is played nowadays he is going to be a C going forward, he is an average athlete, but he is really long and he embraces the garbage man roll, needs to add strength and consistency to his shooting range, but he is a top20 prospect if he declares.

I fully expect him to come back unless MSU wins it all.

Davis was last measured at 6-9.5 in shoes with a 7-1.5 wingspan at the 2014 Nike Skills Academy, but it is possible he has grown in height or length since. When you compare him to some of the other top freshmen bigs on a per 40 pace adjusted scale, it’s hard to see why he’s projected behind most of them.

highly doubt it, especially with the way they went out and with the class Izzo has for next season, when they could be contenders again with Deyonta featured in a bigger role.

Davis is a better option for the magic than chriss.
Chriss has decent wingspan but a very average standing reach at 8'9, because he has a long neck and shoulders sit low. Davis on the other hand, has a better wingspan and a very good standing reach, and he is not an average athlete, maybe not as bouncy as chriss, but a good athlete, him having a much better reach and a much better frame gives him a better potential as a rim protector and interior defender. And he has good touch, very good hands and a decent form on his shot, looks like he should be able to develop, at least, the long two.

I think he would be a solid pick for Orlando. Could be a elite shot blocker and defender down the road.

I would take a look at him before deciding just based on fit. When I first started hearing about him mid-season, I sort of pictured Nerlens Noel with a money mid-range game, and he's not that. His shot isn't super smooth and it was barely used at all this year, he's skinny and not a special or explosive athlete (though he's pretty quick for a big), and he's not enormous: measures at about 6'10 and 7'1 wingspan--about the size of Bobby Portis or Ersan Ilyasova.

That's not to say he's a bad pick. He was active and was productive in his time, seems to have a good attitude and enough tools to be diverse on both offense and defense down the line. It's hard for me to see him being a particularly good starter, though; he looks like a guy that can play some roles and fill in some gaps, but I'm struggling to see how he's an average starter or better down the line. That's why I say I wouldn't take him for fit and expect him to be your starting 4 for the next 5-6 years.

Chad Ford has him ranked 15th in his top 100 players... I'd have to say I agree.

Don't think Davis will make it to the Magic. Have a feeling we'll draft whichever one of Davis or Poeltl is still available. Don't think I see both being on the board when we come up at 10.

Do you think Baldwin is in the mix for you guys? Seems like a great fit. I always figured you guys would come down to Baldwin/Poeltl.

Davis is a good prospect but for you guys, I think it's more assuring that Poeltl has legit C size.

Honestly, Davis also has legitimate size. Nearly 6'11 in shoes, might be still growing, a 240 lb frame that could stand to add a pretty substantial amount of weight, a significant advantage in verticality, and a three inch advantage in standing reach to Poeltl.

With regards to Baldwin, I think he's in the mix, but as I said on the Bucks board:

Baldwin's extremely poor finishing in the paint given his overall size, strength, and length is very concerning to me. That combined with the lack of a tight handle makes me think it's a touch thing and has me wary of that three point shot translating when he's moved back a bit more. The finishing thing is just extremely mindboggling.

If he''s not a knock down shooter, is he really a better prospect than Jackson at the point guard given his overall athleticism and speed? I'm not sure.

So I'm very wary.

Boring prospect and no different than the handful of average PF prospects available in every single draft. EDavis, Booker, JThompson, Landry, Henson, Capela, Bass, Nicholson, Johnson... will just slot in as another one of those dime a dozen guys that can easily be had through free agency. Seems really slow from interviews, said his goal was "to get a second contract", no assertiveness, hard worker though.

I like Davis as a backup 5. Guards the pick and roll, blocks a lot of shots, catches lobs and finishes lobs, and grabs all the defensive rebounds.
