De Colo and Teodosic are clear favorites to grab the MVP, but just be mentioned among them is a big honor. He probably has a legit chance at Euroleague second team.

Doncic is the real deal.
"Marc Stein ESPN
The 6-7 Luka Doncic, still just 17, isn't eligible for this June's NBA Draft but is widely projected to be selected No. 1 overall in 2018."

I feel like some people just want to dive looking for problems that simply aren't there. Arguing that he can't play PG because he won't be able to defend PGs... of course he can't defend PGs. You play him as your PG on offense, then make him guard SG/SFs. Why would anyone make him guard PGs?

I feel like the debate here revolves around certain users thinking he's a late lotto pick, while others argue that he's a top 3 pick.

What is there to question about his skillset? I see people questioning on whether or not it'll translate into the NBA. Isn't that a concern for all prospects in college too? I feel like some posters overrate college athleticism. The average starting PG in college has poor athleticism. Same with SGs, and SFs. Athleticism only starts to pick up when you look at PFs and Cs, and even then, you have a bunch of Marshall Plumlees.

Just going by highlights he's not that athletic and 6'8 or 9.

Don't see how that translates to a star in the pros

So true..Givony singlehandedly made Sergey Karasev a top 20 pick.He was hyping him so hard,Cavs took the bait.Out of the league after 2 years,a huge waste.DraftExpress is shady as Givony is also an agent.

yes, I should rather trust people who don't like to watch full games, don't know anything about Eurolegue or Europe, but are experts for players from Europe. ;)

Being the 3rd to 4th option in a team isn't being "a star". It's not a star in any team or league.

career assist rate percentage:

Kidd: 38.5
CP3: 47.3
Lebron: 34.9
Batum: 17.7
Hayward: 18.7
Iguodala: 20

Those are interesting numbers. Anyway, I think you can't compare those pure PG numbers (Kidd and CP3). They get much more touches than Doncic. He doesn't play the PG all the time. And it is easier to make assist in the NBA. A pass then score off the dribble is not counted as an assist in Europe. That's why only 4 players in history were able to score a triple double in the Euroleague and the last one was 10 years ago.

The absolute best play creators and passers only average 5-7 assists per game in EuroLeague at their best years, and only 3-5 in their careers.

Instead of keeping saying this, to people that don't seem to believe it - just post the all-time EuroLeague assists leaders:

http://www.euroleague.net/main/statistics?mode=Leaders&entity=Players&seasonmode=All&cat=Assistances&agg=Accumulated

Even guys like Theo Papaloukas and Milos Teodosic only averaged 4-5 assists per game in their EuroLeague careers.

Some examples of rotation point guards that have played recently in both NBA and EuroLeague, and their assist averages in both leagues:

http://www.espn.com/nba/player/stats/_/id/2806/jose-calderon

Jose Calderon = 2.1 assists per game in EuroLeague and 6.3 assists per game in NBA.

http://www.espn.com/nba/player/stats/_/id/4011/ricky-rubio

Ricky Rubio = 3.5 assists per game in EuroLeague and 8.3 assists per game in NBA.

http://www.espn.com/nba/player/stats/_/id/3423/goran-dragic

Goran Dragic = 2.7 assists per game in EuroLeague and 4.8 assists per game in NBA.

http://www.espn.com/nba/player/stats/_/id/3964/patrick-beverley

Patrick Beverley = 0.6 assists per game in EuroLeague and 3.3 assists per game in NBA

http://www.euroleague.net/competition/players/showplayer?pcode=AGP&seasoncode=E2002#!careerstats

http://www.espn.com/nba/player/stats/_/id/2448/beno-udrih

Beno Udrih = 2.6 assists per game in EuroLeague and 3.4 assists per game in NBA.

http://www.euroleague.net/competition/players/showplayer?pcode=006590&seasoncode=E2016#!careerstats

http://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/3963/rodrigue-beaubois

Rodrigue Beaubois = 1.7 assists per game in EuroLeague and 2.1 assists per game in NBA.

http://www.euroleague.net/competition/players/showplayer?pcode=ANM&seasoncode=E2010#!careerstats

http://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/387/marko-jaric

Marko Jaric = 2.1 assists per game in EuroLeague and 3.6 assists per game in NBA.

http://www.euroleague.net/competition/players/showplayer?pcode=001219&seasoncode=E2008#!careerstats

http://www.espn.com/nba/player/stats/_/id/3997/brandon-jennings

Brandon Jennings = 1.6 assists per game in EuroLeague and 5.8 assists per game in NBA.

So yes, it is much harder to get assists under FIBA rules, than NBA rules. In general, the accepted formula is you can take FIBA assists and multiply by them 2.5, and that equals the same thing in NBA.

That does not mean if you average 1 assist in EuroLeague, that you will average 2.5 assists in the NBA. It means that 1 assist in EuroLeague, is the equivalent of 2-3 assists in the NBA. So it's not a translation stat, but an equivalency stat.

Man jrob23 and Mirotic12 are just such a comedy, dunno who is more clueless, Mirotic bringing up assist numbers for guys like Calderon (!) and Jennings (!!!) without considering their age and context is just a trolljob.

http://acb.com/, here will be live boxscore. Imho Laso will try to use more Draper then in last game, because tomorrow is final, if they win today, and Llull and Doncic can't play so many minutes in only 4 days.

The game is at 6:30 pm CET (12:30pm EST). It should be a good game, probably the best 2 teams in Spain at the moment. I think that Baskonia will win if Doncic and Llull dont play on the same level they played the last game.

He is starting to flash more and more passing out of post ups. That is the next step. If he can add a Jabari/Melo/Tatum type of face-up game then the sky is the limit. Its a great way to maximize his passing at the next level when driving and dishing becomes significantly harder. I've seen the footwork for it and floaters....just needs the pull-up. He seems to struggle with finishing through contact so its going to be interesting to see if that is just because of age or innate lack of explosion.

+14 for Real with him on the floor. Baskonia was up 20-15 after 1st and then Luka came in and dominated the rest of the half. If he keeps it up, he will be in conversation for Copa del Rey MVP.

Can't watch the game unfortunately, but been following the box score. Ayon has 7 assists, Voigtmann has 6. Bigman passing.
