Man, I think you guys are missing the boat on Young. To me he looks like the closest thing we've seen to Steph Curry since Steph Curry. If he slips out of the lottery its going to be a mistake.

6'0" with a 6'1" wingspan, though. Steph's a lot longer/bigger.

I personally don't try to draft prospects hoping they end up as Steph Curries.(I don't actually draft, but you get what I mean)

He was measured with a 6'2 ½" and 6'4" wingspan in 2016, along with being measured 6'2'' in shoes. Source: http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Trae-Young-83172/

These guys have something else:

Measured at 6'0, 158 lbs, with a 6'1 wingspan at the 2014 Nike Elite 100

But that's from '14 so yours is probably more accurate.

How big is Curry? 6'2 1/2 with a 6'4 wingspan doesn't sound that bad to me.

He is 6'2 for sure. He is taller than Sexton and Duval(?????looks different) here Image

And he looks half a inch shorter than Kyrie Image

He is just slim and lacks girth right now.

Curry has a much better frame though, and Curry is a generational shooter, Trae is good but he isnt that, at least not yet

Looks worryingly like Shane Larkin in terms of frame/quickness/PNR game. Does look to have a little better size, range and vision though.

Larkin had worse vision but better burst and esp bounce off one foot, Trae's burst is okay and has all the moves and the handle to trick people into stuff so he can get separation, but he isn't finishing at the rim.

Also like you mentioned, much better shooter so that helps also.

Larkin didn’t have as good a handle as well.

In that first pic he's angled closer to the lens and that's 100% Quade Green in the middle.

That's a red flag then, for me. He can clearly pass the rock, but he'll need to learn to do so with a lower usage rate. If he can learn to play within the flow of an offense I think he can have NBA starting material, but if he's really that bad that pushes him down big time.

That doesn't surprise me after watching the Oregon game, he made some very nice passes however his shot selection looked pretty poor. He didn't seem like he did that good of a job protecting the ball when attacking the basket either, which makes me wonder how that part of his game will translate to the pros. He just seemed a little predictable and got blocked a handful of times.

I legit laughed when you said that's Duval but looks different here  , no offense but that was funny.

I've never been big on Freshman PG's in the draft who aren't freak athletes. The learning curve is so steep. I think he needs another year in Norman.

Burke's freshman year: 14.8ppg, 3.5rpg, 4.6apg(2.9tpg), 0.9spg, 43.3 fg%, 34.7 3%, 36.1mpg
Young's freshman year: 24.5ppg, 4.3rpg, 9.0apg(3.5tpg), 2.3spg, 46.9 fg%, 39.4 3%, 29.8mpg

If he stays another year, he's a late lotto pick who could become a star NBA player.

I dont think he is a good but not great athlete. Can stroke it from deep but ive seen him miss some shots at the rim that a better athlete likely makes.
