Luka Doncic part II

Post#1 » by Ruzious » Mon Dec 11, 2017 4:34 pm

They ask us to limit threads to 100 pages, so it was past time to cut off thread 1. But there's still lotsa Luka left. Here's a link to the first thread. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1584464&start=2360 Enjoy posting and reading on this thread.

Don't want to nitpick, but it seems it's part III, here is part I:
https://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1369376#start_here

I'm posting a link because it's funny to read old stuff. Like pretty much the last post in the thread:

Don't be silly. There are at least 6 teams in Europe that are better than Slovenia.

Slovenia is 3rd tier of European basketball with Serbia, France and Spain being 1st and Croatia, Greece and Lithuania being second. Slovenia is there with Italy, Turkey and such.

Yeah, I know, it's easy to be the general after the battle.

To be fair back then it wasnt clear if Randolph would be able to play or not. I dont think Slovenia could beat Latvia or Spain without him.
It's interesting to see those old posts about Luka reaching his ceiling at 17. I guess he's reached his ceiling at least 5 times now, but this time it's for real guys.

Teams at the top of a draft tend to take risk on those transcendent offensive talent. That’s why players like Rudy Gobert, Deandre Jordan were usually not picked high. I think the same thing applies here. Bamba should not go over Doncic in this draft. We already know what Bamba is going to be, a defensive, lob catching big man. So Doncic cannot fall to no. 5, IMO.

I think I would put Ayton ahead of Doncic on my board if I was going to make one. He's looked incredible in the games I've watched. Still would have Doncic at #2 though.

Though I have to admit, that it was a slick excuse for a diversion to another thread after peja_the_legend got what's going for him in the last page of previous thread :)

This is guy is a PERFECT fit for today's NBA as a combo guard. He's a facilitating Klay Thompson with a handle. Only one I'd take over him at this point is Bagley, and it's a tough choice.

As a Suns fan, I'm hoping the Bulls, Hawks, Kings, etc don't believe he will translate to the NBA.

Given Ayton, Bagley and Doncic's production, and what competition they have faced untill now, I'd choose Luka every time.

Probably that Suns would then pick him.

Well Real's got absolutely no chance against Barcelona tommorow without him. I dont know if Campazzo is gonna play, but either way without Doncic this team is a complete mess.

Laso on press conference , he will play but last time this happen (flue, didn't train for a week)that Khimki game happend.

Its hard imagine Madrid beating anyone before getting some player back.Especially if Luka won't be 100%.
