He’s isnt in play there and likely isn’t a lottery pick. The Clippers are looking for a lot of upside and a potential franchise star. They’ve also said they’re looking for toughness. They’re looking for athletes that are skilled and tough.

Plus they’re looking to move up. Potentially for the Grizzlies pick.

I follow the Clippers hardcore because I grew up watching them and Huerter isn’t the type of pick they’re trying to get.

Zhaire Smith, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Miles Bridges, Robert Williams, and Kevin Knox get strong looks from them, but they like the guys at the top more. I hear they like Troy Brown too.

LMAO. They want athletes but they like Troy Brown? Ok. He's skilled, but he's a minus athlete and he is not tough.

I think Jerry West would love to come away from this Draft with Miles and Huerter.

I can guarantee you they won’t take Huerter unless they trade back

Kind of funny, Troy Brown had a workout with the Clippers today and there are now reports that it was a really good workout.. and he was going against Zhaire Smith. I’m pretty sure they’re drafting him.

Doc could have his new Pierce

Looks like Troy's going high after all. I feel like Brown would look a lot better in a workout setting than Zhaire.

I think Huerter is going to the Hawks at 18.

So, Nostradamus, what is SAS getting back for trading the 18?

LOl I meant 19. Zhaire Smith at 18.

ANd by the way, I’ve predicted the Spurs first round draft picks for the past 3 years

If Smith falls to them, its him

how far will he fall?

Maryland forward Kevin Huerter, a projected first-round pick in the June NBA Draft, underwent surgery to repair torn ligaments in his right hand, sources tell ESPN. He will be sidelined for two months.

He won't make the second round that's for sure. Can't see Warriors or the Celtics passing on him.

I can't see this injury really effecting this guy's draft stock that much. Like you either liked him and had him in a certain range, or viewed him as fodder and had him in another. It's not like he blew an ACL out, broke his foot, needs back surgery, etc.

Huerter is in play for the Jazz at 21. I think they're looking at Elie Okobo, Jerome Robinson, KBD and possibly Josh Okogie as well.

My problem with Huerter is his shooting split of 41.7% 3pt on 6.4 3PA/40 and 75.8% FT is not actually that amazing. There's lots of guys every draft who have higher volume, higher FT% or both including players like Mikal Bridges, Trae Young and Grayson Allen this draft. I know his jumpshot look good and maybe that will win out but I can't go with the Klay Thompson thing based on that alone

He also shot 52% on mid-range jumpers.

I mean regarding the 76% from the line, if it was on 300 FTA I'd probably be more skeptical. But literally if he had 5 more makes and we're not talking about this.

Agreed, and you have to consider the difficulty of some of his shots. That said, I don't love his form all that much because right now he needs some space to get his shot off with his current release. He can improve on that but it could be the difference between solid role player off the bench and legitimately great shooter who's going to be a long-time starter.
