I used to be a supply teacher in French schools. This kid used to attend Francophone schools full-time as a student. He would come in bright and early with the trainers and use the gym, would stay afterhours and push himself too. I remember really clearly. Used to teach him at times and used to play ball with him too. RJ was like 13-14 at the time.

Rowan used to pop in at times when RJ would be playing in interschool tournaments; RJ had to have been no older than 10-11 at the time. I remember that was my first interaction with Rowan. We were sitting in the bleachers watching and we just talked - if I remember correctly - about the game in French schools in the Greater Toronto Area and how it's growing.

Could be. Little and Cole Anthony could push him out.
Bet with Stillwater Celtics will finish 6th or higher in ECF Standings Regular Season(17-18). [WON]

Nice story. My Barrett story revolves around his dad as well as I played against him in high school when his team visited Ottawa University for a tournament. Rowan was an athletic freak compared to the rest of us and he did whatever he wanted, his go-to move was the bank shot, he just torched us with shots off the glass from all angles. Hard to imagine that RJ is probably 3x better than what his dad used to be but that's obviously the case.

I then followed Rowan through his college ball at St.John's and with the Canadian Olympic team. Rowan would have been much better and possibly making it to the NBA had he played his HS ball in the States but that was unheard of at the time. I never get tired of watching the Barretts getting profiled on television and how RJ has been raised to be the highly competitive kid that he is now. This kid is going to be a beast, I'm most impressed by his championship mindset and attitude.

Those kinds of rumors can't be true. But I heard the Lakers rumor is tho...

You're definitely tanking, Jerry West is just smart enough to hide that fact.

Tanking for what, the 10th pick?

Actually some are saying next draft is shallow. It falls off sharply after the top 4 prospects. The very top guys look legit but things can always change after the college season.

I would be surprised if your roster doesn't look significantly different by the end of the season. The only guys who are safe are SGA, Robinson, and maybe Harrell.

With 2 pick in the 2019 NBA draft, the boston celtics select rj barret.

That would be epic.

Naw. All they had to do is let guys like Bradley+Milos go etc. Now they are gonna win 35+ games easily. Lucky if it's a top 10 pick now.

Yeah I tend to think the shallow thing is often overblown this early. Euros show out, freshman exceed expectations, upperclassmen develop.

Has he reclassified officially or is that still in limbo?

I wouldn't get too excited about Barrett if I were you, I think whoever you pick in next year's draft is likely going to be headed to New Orleans.

That's fine, and I agree that the draft could look differently a year from now (and it probably will), but that has nothing to do with your original sarcastic statement. People are saying it's a weak draft knowing fully how good Barrett is.

My point is people always say that and it's almost always premature.
