What do you guys think about him as a prospect? I want to give credit to the poster who said he was a prototype 3&D guy in the NBA. Forgive me, I forget who posted that.

If he comes out after this year he'll be an older prospect - 22 when the season begins. But his measureables are there and he has great leaping ability.

What's his ceiling? RoCo but a better athlete?

He’s a prototype 3/D player, but he lacks creation ability. Doesn’t have a strong first step, can’t dribble and doesn’t create separation. He’ll never be the shooter Covington is, isn’t near as skilled with his footwork and isn’t near as strong as Covington is. Having said that, he’s creative around the basket and can be a good finisher, especially with his included athleticism. Like Covington, he has a good feel for passing and will do great in a system that moves the ball. His success will depend on either his defense or 3 point shooting because he lacks the physical ability to get space.

I think there’s a very small chance he becomes better than I expect IF he can become a really good scorer around the basket and focuses on scoring in the paint.

To me he’s a pick in the 20s for a playoff team that needs a wing. I wouldn’t bet on him for his upside because he mostly is what he’s going to be unless a coach unlocks another side in him. It’s rare for a player to develop that much to become that much better at his age.

He has a terrible frame/length for been productive as a defender even though he is pesky and physical, he is also pretty much maxed physically, the guy is Senior age, gonna be 22 by the start of the next NBA season if he declares

His shooting is good, even if he isn't hitting right now and that's sometimes enough, but I have a hard time buying in

When watching Ayton last year I thought he could maybe turn into Luc Mbah a Moute, but it's true the wingspan/length limits him a lot

He is also 175lbs, like..., it's just untenable

Dam that's harsh if he is already 21.

He just isn’t as good as expected. Neither is Akot. Randolph specifically needs to hit shots at a high clip to be draftable right now.
