What if Zhaire Smith inexplicably redshirted for half a season?

I give you Ochai Agbaji!

he was going to get redshirted the whole season but Self brought him on after the Buike injury.

Definitely an intriguing physical profile and can shoot it a little, but still a ways away.

Very raw perimeter skills, no left hand.

I think he’s more of a prospect for 2020 but he’s been the most impressive prospect on this KU team.

Yea this kid is real nice. Smooth jumper. Makes the right play. Functional handle that is better than I expected. Quick first step. Couple minutes ago he grabs a rebound, pushes the ball up the floor in control and throws a one handed dime to a dude slashing to the basket. Might've been his most impressive play of the night so far.

Yeah man. Didn't know much about his prep days but he seems like a really good prospect with some high-end potential. Another guy with Nigerian roots so he's definitely piqued my interest. He's looking like the best prospect on the entire team, albeit on a small sample size. Excited to see more of him.

+23 Net Rating, 7.9 BPM, 21 PER, 67 TS%.

the fact that he's been this good this fast coming in virtually mid season is remarkable. dude's a star.

wasn't expecting to see him this season... has been exactly what Kansas needed.
The BB iq seems pretty elite for a 18 yr old. pair that with his poise , size, length and freakish hops and you got a lottery pick.

Agreed. I wasn't expecting him to be so poised. It makes me wonder why he was redshirted to begin with.

What a story this would be if this kid comes out of nowhere and low key becomes one of the best player in this draft (if he declares).

Where'd you find that net rating number?

It happens though. Zhaire last year came out of nowhere.

Freakish hops? He doesn't stand out at all for me in terms of explosiveness at the rim. Doesn't seem like much of a leaper. Don't see a lotto pick in him this year. Too many holes in his games.

Best thing he's got going for him is his age and size for the 2guard. Young player in the age where freshmen are 19/20 yearsold.

However, I'm really not sure why he red shirted this year... he looks better than Quentin Grimes lol

He is fluid but he is not a high flyer or an elite athlete, more strong than anything, he reminds me of Mo Evans

He is KU's best prospect, but that ain't saying much, other than Lawson, I highly doubt any of the others declare this year, lotto for Agbaji is way too high, I'd have him 35-50 if he declares this year

Kansas should be good next year, esp if they get Hurt;

Dotson-Moore-McBride
Grimes-Garrett-Braun
Agbaji-Lawson
Hurt-Lightfoot-De Sousa
Azubuike-McCormack
