Respond with your choice and maybe a sentence or two explaining why, then post another two players to choose from. Preferably those that are either close in terms of skill set and/or perceived value.

Thought it'd be a fun way to get our thoughts out about these guys.

First one...

Jordan Poole or Tyler Herro?

Gonna say Poole - better athletic/physical profile, has shot the 3 better during his time in college than Herro. That said I think Herro is probably a better shooter than he's shown so far (92% FT a good indicator). I think they're not far apart.

Porter -- great inside-out game, better footwork and a better scorer.

Coby White or Tre Jones?

Coby White for me. I think White lacks the quickness and athleticism for a PG, but his length will benefit him at the next level. Once he fills up his frame, he can easily play the combo-guard position. Good IQ player who can shoot the ball. I think he has a higher ceiling than Jones, but a lower floor.

Daniel Gafford or Bol Bol

Gafford. Bol Bol's weaknesses make him nearly unplayable. He can not guard in space, gets bullied for rebounds and while a it looks like he moves fluidly, I think part of it is because he is really tall. I know Gafford is not spectacular, but at least you are getting a rim-runner bench big. Bol Bol could be out of the league before his rookie contract ends.

Romeo Langford or Keldon Johnson.
Robert Horry is better than MJ, because everybody knows that 7>6.

Romeo Langford, he has all the tools other than shooting to be a real good role player really

Hayes. Like both a lot, but see Hayes' fit in the modern game, stand out tools and rate of improvement too intriguing to pass up on.

Jarrett Culver or R.J. Barrett?

RJ -- potential to be a #1 scorer on a team I think trumps Culver's good, but not great all-around game

PJ Washington or Brandon Clarke?

Brandon Clarke. Difference isn't great and I think PJ may even have better potential, but Clarke is just a more proven impact guy with a combination if highly desirable traits both skill-set and IQ wise.

Carsen Edwards, easy, at least has a hope to defend with his frame, and is athletic enough, doesn't need the ball
Ponds is a better PG but isn't big enough, or athletic enough, his game doesn't translate well

De'Andre Hunter or Cam Reddish?

tough one...Reddish maybe slightly just because he's younger and has more playmaking potential offensively and defensively, but if you're more risk averse then you take Hunter here and run.

Man, this is tough because I would say Tillie but he's having a lot of injury issues. I'll still take him though.

Grant Williams or De'Andre Hunter.
I was right about 3 point shooting. I expect to be right about Tacko Fall. Some coach will figure out how to use Tacko Fall. This movement towards undersized centers will sweep ng back. Back to the basket scorers will return to the NBA.

Hunter -- more of a prototype, I like him better defensively on the perimeter and is a better athlete.

Ayo Dosunmu or Luguentz Dort

Dort right now. Better frame/athlete, more advanced handle, better (and more versatile) defender when locked in. It's close though, in a year Dosunmu could come out clearly ahead.

Talen Horton-Tucker or Cam Reddish?

THT; He is the lower ceiling on paper, but is also being slept on. I'm not high on Reddish figuring it out due his lack of dog mentality he's so overrated.

Rui.

Rui is a much better athlete. PJ is maybe stronger but Rui definitely seems faster and probably has a better vertical.

Neither are freshmen and both of them only had one good year from shooting threes. Rui at 41.5% on one attempt a game and PJ shot 42.5% from three point range on two attempts per game.

Rui had better effecentcy stats from inside the arc but I'd say the are both good from their and PJ played in a much tougher conference.

I don't think either is big enough to be a long term starter at PF, so I think they should both focus on becoming a SF in order to start or they should prepare for a career as a backup PF.

I trust Rui more to transition to SF.

For both of them if they show they can guard perimeter players for 70+ games a season and shoot three pointers at 35%+ on at least mid-level volume I think they could earn 100-million dollars in their respective careers.

If they become bench fodder I expect Rui to be better because of his athletisism.

I don't think either will transition to SF, but I'd expect Rui to have a better chance.

I could be being to harsh on these players as I prefer big-ball than the new age small-ball.

Finally, wherever you have Rui ranked, move him up. He has always out preformed expectations, it's who he is. Personally, I have him ranked higher than where most do simply because I think he will see where most have him and use that as motivation.

Wheras PJ I feel simillarly to Grant Williams both look like second round picks who need to realize they aren't gooing to always have the size to do the things they currently do, at the next level. Neither has the quickness either.

I will take Bazley because he looked very good in the 2018 Jordan Brand Classic. He really stood out and seemed to make good role player plays even in an environment that was open and wild enough to get Elliot Williams MVP for just waiting in the lane for dunks.

Bazley stood out before I knew his name. He didn't seem like the best player or athlete in that game but he seemed to be in the top half of both categories in a star filled game.

He didn't seem like he was about the flash (although he did have some flash) he seemed like he wanted to show that he could make winning plays.
