Keldon Johnson? Way too high. Nothing special about his game or tools that should put him in discussion for the top.10. I like your Bruno Fernando love. He's a lot better than where he's being projected on the published mocks I've seen. Tre Jones in the lottery... To put it nicely... What?!

I liked that list pretty good with the same 3 names standing out. I don’t see it in keldon Johnson. Interested in Bruno, and also not thinking tre Jones is a guy that fits where you have him, if anywhere. Specifically I looked at the next 5 or 6 you have right after tre and think they’re all levels ahead

Zion is definetly the best player in the draft.

Then there are three that I like.

Ja, Hunter and Culver. Ja is the obvious choice, and I really like Hunter.I think that he is a type of player that will stick in the league for a very long time. Maybe he won't be the 2nd or 3rd best player, but I see him being at least a great 3&D player. And that is huge IMO.

Then there is Culver. I really like him and his skillset. I see him in a Middleton role(but I think he can be better than Kris). A good player on a great team.

Then there is RJ. I see him being an inefficient chucker, and that's the kind of player I don't really like. He has great potential, but I am very skeptical about him.

I also like Thybulle, think that he will stay in the league for a long time.
And I think Goga Bitadze will suprise a lot of you guys.

And the one prospect I don't really like is Cam Reddish :D

History says that after the top 6 if you can get a player who can be in the rotation of a top 8 team for 5-10 years, that's an excellent value pick.

Yeah Keldon is insanley quick laterally. And is a good shooter. Keldon will come in as a + man defender. He's a fierce rebounder and he's already as physically developed as 30-40%(or more) of NBA players at 19 years old.
I think Keldon can be a rotation player for any NBA team

Bruno is big and plays hard and coordinatied so I'm glad we agree on him.
I think Bruno can play rotation minutes for probably 4 of the top 8 seeds.

Tre Jones is a fantastic defender and (as you can see with Keldon and Bruno) I really value 1-5 defense. Tre Jones couldn't shoot all year, but as soon as coach K told him if he couldn't hit there's they wouldn't being the tournament he looked himself in the gym and the next game he hit 5 threes. If Tre can be a 35% shooter from three he'll be an impact rotation player as a rookie.
I think Tre Jones can play roation minutes for any team (if he gets a consistent 3) without the three point shot I think he can play for most NBA playoff teams still (if less in the playoffs and more in the regular season)

*Just for the recoed-
I do think I should have put Garland ahead of either Langford or Bruno definitely ahead of Hunter.

I think both Nassir and Mattise are excellent defenders. I think Tre is a better offense player than either of them. I think they are all good defenders or better.

Bol Bol oand Okeke are hurt and I don't want to use my 1 draft pick I get a year for an injury guy unless I'm SURE they will be an impact player. (If healthy I think Bol Bol will be an absolute superstar on offense)

I need to watch more of Clarke, Okeke and Hayes (especially Clarke). No of them impresses me in the research I do before watching the YouTube clips.

And Alexander-Walker is a guy I think can be anywhere from a smaller KCP to a poor man's CJ McCollum so that isn't much better than where I have Tre Jones (Patrick Beverly without a jump shot, unless he adds one).

Thanks for not being condescending in your post.

Update as the college season ends. One more update post combine, think the big thing there will be to put tier 4 in order. Sticking with no euros/Garland, haven't seen enough of any of them. Also deciding to not worry about injuries as of now, let somebody with the medical reports weigh that.

Tier 1
Zion

Tier 2
Bol

Tier 3
Culver

Tier 4
Morant
White
Clarke
Hunter
Horton-Tucker
Washington
Williams
Barrett
Porter
Okeke

Think the draft is actually looking decently deep, just shallow at the very top. Wish I could bring myself to love Dort, but can't quite do it. Reddish/Hayes the guys that are consensus pretty high that I have lower. Reddish I'm just not sold on his offense at all, his defense is fine enough, just wish he'd shown some real creation flashes or hit shots at a higher rate. Hayes I'm just not real high on the archetype going forward unless he can be elite of the elite in it (also rebounding concerns).

Herro/Nas would fall into a hypothetical Tier 5 where I think they could be half decent rotation guys someday, but I have a tough time seeing them much better than that. Nas for feel/skill reasons, Herro due to more physical limitations, feels like I'm lower than others on his off-ball movement too, I just don't consistently see enough purpose there (could be a Cal thing).

KPJ I probably wouldn't even rank, absolutely hate his feel, don't think he can really shoot it and is overly reliant on his athleticism.

Morant tier 4? Culver over Barrett? Bol the lone tier 2 guy? wow...but hey its your list.

Should probably have expanded a bit on the tiers, but roughly:

Tier 1: High floor MVP potential
Tier 2: Low floor MVP potential
Tier 3: High floor Star potential
Tier 4: Low floor Star potential

Referring to impact and not perception.

Morant - I don't really see a route to him being a real top tier guy, athletic limitations will keep him from the Westbrook he wants to be. For floor he turns it over a bunch and the competition level was low.

Culver v Barrett - I feel quite good about this one honestly. I'm far more impressed by Culver's athleticism/defense/passing. Barrett's probably the guy most likely to drop completely from my list, has fire but not all the skills to back up his playstyle.

Bol - I think he has reach franchise changing top end potential, I recognize not all are that high on him, don't really see any other contenders for tier 2.

Am I correct to then assume that 'star potential' includes the type of players most fans would casually dismiss as role players, provided that they noticeably contribute to winning?

Absolutely, Battier was originally my example for tier 3, but wound up leaving those out.

that's interesting, because i would think the common consensus is that Barrett is the better athlete. where do think the delineation in athleticism is between them? i think Culver is a better athlete in the half court (more wiggle, more fluid in his movements + the ability to accelerate after initial burst/first step) while Barrett is better in the open floor, though obviously half court athleticism is more important in the NBA.
