I see some Jason Richardson in Edwards, let's hope Crean can create the same thing he did with Wade and Dipo.

When I watch Anthony Edwards I get new-age Mitch Richmond vibes. Springier, craftier off the dribble, not nearly as steady of a shooter. Hopefully he ends up being the beast that he's capable of being. I'm high on the kid. I think he has a lot of game.

Btw, Jalen Smith no longer looks like someone nicknamed Stix. He's really put in the gym work, and it shows.

So apparently Anthony Edwards at the age of 17 has a 42 inch vertical and at the end of a full workout he can bike half a mile in 50 seconds.

Wtf...

Take these reports with a grain of salt, whenever there is no video of some amazing athletic feat, they almost always fall short at the combine.

Players and coaches love to boost hype, there would be no reason not to post videos of all that stuff.

he was already getting pretty big by the end of last season...he has a monster frame it was a matter of time before it started filling out

I know this may seem like a lazy and inaccurate comparison but the very first player I thought of when I tried to think of an NBA comparison is Omri Casspi since they’re both obviously from Israel and both are around the same height and weight.

Hopefully Deni Avdija turns out to be a much better NBA player because Omri Casspi hasn’t been anything special to say the least.

Right - remember Anthony Davis when he was a stringbean - the very wide shoulders were the giveaway that he was going to get a lot bigger.

avdija is way more versatile player, Casspi is just a shooter who can somewhat dribble a bit. Avdija is more of the Gordon Hayward.

This is a great piece on Avdija from a few months back, a very thorough and recommended read.

How do you think this draft compares to 2019?

i like '19 better...Zion makes a big difference and there's no clear #1 guy in this draft, I also think 19 is deeper and I like the international crop a little better

but I was bigger on the '19 draft than most here so you might get a different answer from someone else

Edwards is a creative guard, J Rich was a SF and a spot up shooter who makes athletic play but without much ball handling skills
