Wanted to wait until they played some real competition. Looked pretty good vs. Florida State. Not sure he is a OAD but is a pro.

He’s 4th in the NCAA in Win Shares and 6th in PER thus far this season. Definitely someone to keep an eye on. For anyone who remembers him, he’s the son of Dale Davis.

He is a fake 6'8/6'9, super long neck, meh wingspan, he is really small for a Center, not much skill driving either, his handle is shaky, has a nice post-game, solid touch, good activity, mobile, plays a bit like Brandon Clarke but isn't nowhere near as athletic

Dunno, he is an interesting guy as a mobile big, but he is gonna need to shoot it for me to buy in, he is not going to overpower people in the NBA

this guy is a nightmare to project tbh

i don't know where to put him without an outside shot or dynamic floor game, kinda like Tyler Bey I guess but Bey has some pretty elite length/athleticism, he's bigger than Bey but I'm not sure it's all that functional.

do we think he's gonna declare?

No NBA teams should want him, he sucks. He should just stay in college all four years...

liked I said there, plenty to like, jsut a ton to project with him, but considering this class and the tools he has... I am pretty high on him overall, I love the touch, activity, fluid/mobility body type, and he has shown some dribbling lately

Maybe it came out overly negative, but I do like him as a PF though, I don't think he can be a full-time Center

How are we feeling about him in 2021?

I still think he could be Luis Scola

it's still kinda disappointing that he hasn't developed a 3 ball at all, not even attempting it, that would really help round out his game offensively, but I'm not sure if there's a path there for him to develop one if he's never taking them, and the FT% is not where it should be either.

i think he's be a good pick in the 25-35 range but I was expecting him to be more in the top 20 range this year with a more developed outside game but that didn't happen.

It's interesting reading the responses in this thread several years later. Trayce Jackson-Davis never developed a 3 ball at all, but instead doubled down on what he was already good at. That said he has developed into a pretty good playmaker and he's absolutely dominant around the rim and running the floor. He has some Draymond Green and Blake Griffin in his game. It's tough to see him ever developing a 3 point shot given that he never took them, but there's a lot to like about him even despite that limitation.

If he shot the 3, he would be a LP and much more dynamic.

But I still like him. Guys that can’t shoot still have roles. Think his upside is upper tier bench big like Brandon Clarke.

Pacers have 3 picks between 25 and 32. I’d be fine with spending one on TJD. I think we could get away with his skill set next to Myles. Also think he could be an effective back up 5 in certain situations.

-defense/rim protection
-Handle, ability to grab and go after getting a rebound, lead the break, push it up the floor himself and even face up from the mid post area and attack off the bounce

Plus he was already a really strong finisher around the basket. He's bouncy, athletic, high motor. Good size for a small ball 5 (which we're seeing more and more of as teams play centers are a smaller but quicker and more skilled rather than taller guys who are too slow)

Some people are saying he's a 1st rounder. I don't have him that high, but I think he is a solid bet somewhere in the 2nd round.

He literally does nothing well in my eyes. He has heavy feet and doesn't defend well, he has no touch around the basket and can't shoot.

I don't know what you would have him do on the court.

He does everything well except shoot from the perimeter. It doesn't sound like you've watched him play this season so not going to bother engaging further on this.

Feel free to not engage further, I have watched Indiana play 5-10 games this year and have seen him play prior years. I wouldn't draft him.
