Who are the top go to scorers in the 2020 draft

Post#1 » by Ghost of Kleine » Wed Jan 22, 2020 12:03 am

For this upcoming 2020 draft, Which players do you consider to be truly clutch? Or "Go to" closer type big time shot creators? I'm seeing a lot of really good catch and shoot/ spot up type of prospects. But need help in identifying the prospects that can get/ create their own shots, And have that " Go to scorer" type of skillset?

nobody just yet. I don't think there will be one. Maybe Edwards at this point is the closest.

edit: perhaps Cole

Thanks man! I was hoping that one of Devin Vassell, Aaron Nesmith, or perhaps Patrick Williams might show potential for that. But it'll be disappointing if there's not at least one or two players that show out around draft time. Maybe this is just a draft with mostly solid role players? :-?

Edwards is probably the best, maybe Obi/Cole or even LaMelo next if you're just talking about volume scoring

Yeah, I guess I'm trying to identify players with the ability to create their own shot off the dribble. Ala' prime Jamal Crawford, Lou Williams, derozen etc. Players that you can just give the ball to and they can break down the defense and get buckets without needing to be set up. If that makes sense. But I like your list, And can see wherein those players have that potential possibly.

in that case my top 2 would be RJ and Edwards, Maxey too if you're specifically looking for a 6th man type that can score

Tyrell Terry
I was right about 3 point shooting. I expect to be right about Tacko Fall. Some coach will figure out how to use Tacko Fall. This movement towards undersized centers will sweep ng back. Back to the basket scorers will return to the NBA.

There isn't a single player in this draft I trust to ever be an offensive engine in the NBA.

I like Devin Vassell. I think he'll score like Allan Houston. He has all three levels, a high release, and can shoot off the bounce from mid-range. He can mix in the occasional floater as well. Also a bit similar to Devin Booker.

Obi Toppin should come up with a couple go-to moves.

Jaden McDaniels should be able to step into an 18-footer pretty consistently, similar to Brandon Ingram, but he may need to come off a screen.
