They should ask Houston for everything. All of it. See what they say.

don't know what they'd take back from Houston right now though that would open up taking Jalen vice just drafting him first outright.

I'd try to get KPJ and a pick swap. live with the two lefties in the back court and take Mobes with the second pick. But that's my crazy thinking at work.

My assumption is Houston takes Cade. Pistons get the guy they wanted anyways in this scenario and extract value. I’d ask for KPJ and Wood, and flip Wood for 7 or 9. I’d consider doing the same with Grant. Go all in. And if Houston picks Green then take Cade. Can’t lose.

Dean had some interesting points about Green. He noticed that Kuminga is listed at 6'6 but in pics looks 2 inches taller. Also noticed his teammate Nix looks the same height and is listed at 6'4.

Height Length Weight
Jalen Green 6’4.75 6’8 180
Devin Booker 6’5.75 6’8.25 206
Zach LaVine 6’5.75 6’8.25 181
Bradley Beal 6’4.75″ 6’8 202

I've said this before but Green is built like these guys not the MJs,Kobe, D.Wades of the world.

I still like Green but his upside is surely capped by being such a small guy. I think hes clearly under Mobley and neck and neck with Suggs for who should be pick 3 to 4 in the draft. Sam V just did his draft guide and had alot of questions about his defense on there as well maybe at a later time I'll copy paste some of it for discussion.

I have been searching like crazy for weeks and have no idea how tall Green is. It could be anywhere from 6'4 to 6'6. The hair really makes it hard to tell. I've seen him next to Derozan and Shaw who are 6'6 and they look close in height. But then I will see him next to someone listed as 6'4 and they look similar too.

MJ/Kobe/Wade size

Hold on

Bradley Beal is 6'3.25, LaVine is 6'4.5, Booker is 6'4.5

Green was measured at 6'6 barefoot by the G-league this year, and 6'4 barefoot w/ a 6'7.5 wingspan at 16.5 years old which was taken in 2018 by team USA

where are you getting Jalen Green being measured at 6'4.75? Are you making that up cause I can't find it anywhere

Kobe was 195 as a rookie, MJ was 195 in college, both are under 6'5 without shoes

Like, there are many things to talk about when it comes to size, strength, athleticism, and I'm not saying Green is the same type of athlete as Kobe/MJ... But my dude you can't list everybody's heights wrong by listing them with shoes, and then using a barefoot listing of Green when he was 16.5 or one that your making up

It's possible Green hasn't grown since 16, it's possible his heights all messed up from his afros, I have no idea

As for Wade, he is way different than everybody else that dude was 6'3.75 220+ of pure muscle and freak athleticism on wide shoulders

ThatboyNick

Greens wingspan caps him which I’m a okay with.

MJ had HUUUUGE hands

And Wade was a 6”4” 220+ mini Lebron tank at his peak. I chuckle when their was a Mitchell comp not too long on the main board. Different weight and height classes.

Outliers.

I prefer Green as Beal if Ja Morant with a better shot but way less passing ability was stuck inside of him lol.

Caps him at what though lol

Booker/LaVine/Beal/Green all have the same wingspan, you got the SG in the finals, the league scorer, LaVine who averaged 27 this season, to throw a random player in who plays much bigger, Butler too.

How big a player plays is a combination of a lot of things. Overall, Green's size won't stop him from being dominant. Clearly, as we see from Steph, Lillard, Iverson, you can be a small scorer and dominant

Other things can cap him, like his handle, his shot, decision making etc, we just have to wait and see what he is

From MJ/Kobe comps :) I get the other ones though.

See earlier posts I have with Green or Mobley as number one. I side with Mobley initially and recently but it switches up daily lol. Both are very minimal on the negative critiquing even if there’s some blindness to it. They haven’t moved from my list of favs and were the first ones on there.

I’m one of the biggest fans of Green fwiw.

I'd pick Suggs over both 8-)

Cade
Suggs
Green
Mobley

is my top 4 order

Can’t hate on Suggs at all (no more obvious ones on my list lol that would be too safe and boring).

If I had to bet one player from this draft that would be on a championship team my money is on Suggs.

Also if he gets enough usage could be the go for ROY.

Its very common for athletes' heights and weight to be Bsed. If he did a official combine measurement its diff but all the other measurements are noise. I've stood next to Allen Iverson at Greektown casino in Detoit in person hes listed at 6'1 I'm 6'1 hes a good 3 inches shorter then me.

I didnt write that I copied it from the article by the way. The author is going by the fact hes clearly shorter then Kuminga whos 6'6 and about the same size as Nix whos 6'4 and giving him a boost. The 6'6 is just the sweet spot that SGs like to be listed at becuase its MJ/Kobe height making them the "prototype" size.

After watching Harden for nearly a decade it's a little bit hard for me to get excited about the skinny boys

I like me a superstar that can put his defender on their ass, Cade and Suggs both have that strength to move people

He doesn’t have the length or height of Kobe/MJ/Wade/Carter. I’m not sure if he’s ever going to be able to make much of a defensive impact

Hahaha me the same! That’s why I’m gutted Roko Prkacin didn’t declare this draft. Dude plays like he is bull in a China shop. Add to the fact grown men just bounces of the kids frame or he tries to seek out the contact. It’s a Luka tank body from the head down lol.

I really hate guessing heights based on pictures of dudes at different angles, different lengths away from the camera and different poses thing that people do. This picture doesn't do much

He is the size of booker beal and lavine. it takes all of 5 minutes from watching him play to tell he isn't the size of kobe or vince. his size is already priced in my opinion of him, he can still be an electric offensive centerpiece like the first guys I mentioned. Two way upside is not there though.

And i'm not so sure he will be much of a playmaker either. There is a strong possibility that he will be very one dimensional, albeit he could be pretty elite in that one dimension.

According to this

https://www.thehoopsgeek.com/average-nba-height/

The average height for a 2 guard was 6'4. Just look at someone like Donte DiVincenzo, he is a damn good defender at the 2 spot and he is 6'4 with a 6'6 wingspan. No way Green is any smaller than he is.

Dont get me wrong Im not saying Green is going to be some super stud defensive player, but I dont think size will hold him back defensively.

Yeah, people are talking like he has a negative wingspan or something. Probably about 6'8 there, average to above average height for a two guard. Totally adequate. Size isn't what's keeping LaVine (between the ears/effort) and Booker (a bit of effort though that was much better this year, mostly lack of athleticism) from being good on D. Also beal is absolutely smaller than all three of these guys so idk why hes being lumped in here
