Will Richardson (21)

Post#1 » by clyde21 » Mon Jun 1, 2020 7:49 pm

one of my top guards returning to school, lotto guy for me right now for 21, deserves his own thread at this point IMO for people to keep an eye on him moving forward.

shot 48/47/85 as a soph., good physical profile, switchable, nuanced off-ball, can create on ball in the half-court, is aggressive going downhill with good footwork.

Is he playing point next year or just at the 2? He has a really good feel for the game and he's crafty, but small. His burst isn't anything great, but he plays with a good tempo and I think he can overcome that with his feel for the game. His C&S game is strong but his pull-up, OTD stuff looks like a work in progress. If he can learn to piece together some dribble moves into a reliable pull-up J, he could look a lot like a bigger Tony Parker.

Read on Twitter

Not sure I still feel as high on him at this point, but definitely worth watching. Soured on him a bit athletically as he's 6'5" with 0 dunks on the season. A good point guard but probably will never be a big time scorer or even an above-average one.
I was right about 3 point shooting. I expect to be right about Tacko Fall. Some coach will figure out how to use Tacko Fall. This movement towards undersized centers will sweep ng back. Back to the basket scorers will return to the NBA.

He's probably closer to 6'3.5 to be honest. Shoes gets him closer to 6'5.

I mean I refer to everyone in shoes unless there's some reason not to. 6'3.5" barefoot is quite tall for a point guard. He only had 1 dunk his Freshman season. No matter how you cut it, he's not an elite athlete in any sense really.

He's a shooting guard, though.

Hell, he might be shorter than that.

The other guy is Corey Davis Jr. who is listed at 6'1. Did he have a growth spurt?

COD?

His stop and go is pretty good. Did he have a growth spurt? See previous post. Is he a PG or SG?

Eh, the first pick is more telling. They both have their knees bent at similar degrees and angle doesn't favor one over the other.

In this picture, Gach's knees are clearly bent more and the angle favors Richardson since he's in front.

Lol. I posted those measurements.

Do you think he ever develops an adequate pull-up game?

then what are you disagreeing with? i said he's 6-5 from the beginning.

and yes I do, his handle is already a + and he can already shoot from many different platforms

No disagreement. Just stating that I thought he looked shorter in that picture (which was from last season). Maybe he's grown.

I hope he does develop a a good pull-up game. That would take him to the next level, IMO.

Hopefully Oregon lets him play point.

His high school tape is promising. Shows more pull-up ability there than in college.

He clearly *needs* to be a point guard to have any chance in the league. He's not going to score enough to be a combo guard, let alone shooting guard.

Well, with Pritchard gone, it's probably gonna be the Richardson show, so that's probably what will happen, according to my limited research. Don't think the 4-star recruit Terry will challenge him.
