Easily Wiseman. Drafting Onyeka over Wiseman is a fireable offense.

i don't give two **** what his block rate against the UIC Flames was lol

he's not as portable or scalable as Onyeka, doesn't have the 3 level mobility nor the ball skills on offense, that's why Onyeka is a better prospect.

Time will tell. Gonna have to bookmark this.

you're book marking everyone that says Onyeka is a better prospect? that's half this board judging by the poll.

Okongwu with the early lead, now all tied up. Should be interesting to see how this ages.

I think Okongwu might be more of a 4 and a situational 5. I need to see his measurables to see if he's really a rim protector or not. I think you could put both players in roughly the same tier and choose one for situational need, like putting Okongwu next to KAT if you're Minnesota. I don't think either player is such a superstar that you just have to take one over the other.

In a vacuum I might give the nod to Wiseman because I know he'll be a pretty elite rim protector and rim runner with gravity at the rim. If I have a defensive scheme that depends on switching, I'd be tempted to take Okongwu because he can probably guard wings.

If Okongwu measures well and shows a more diverse offensive repertoire in workouts, he could emerge as a contender to go #1. He's a dominant enough athlete.

I think Wiseman's ceiling is clearly higher but kinda unlikely, he is just so behind in terms of IQ, in game smarts etc at times, he seems like a good kid, but doesn't have the fierce, high octane motor either, physicality etc

OO is likely to top as a really good Center that some coaches would be skeptic to play as the sole big, which goes against him, I don't think he is quite Trez, Bam etc as an athlete, nor Rodman/Green in terms of feel, Ben Wallace was also a freak athlete, most bigs with his size don't pan out to the degree you'd need to justify taking Onyeka that high

I kinda think Favors is a good approx for him, they have different bodies, Favors is larger and has had injuries but was a stud athlete for a big, but I think Okongwu could have a similar impact as the best Favors over time if that makes sense

I would take Onyeka over Wiseman but I have them basically back to back in the late lotto range

That's the thing, he may improve cause he is a solid athlete and has that catch radius, but Wiseman is pretty terrible as a rim runner now, he has bad feel for catching passes, timing is off, and is a slow loader in terms of getting off the floor and actually being that dynamic gravity threat at the rim

OO guarding on the perimeter regularly is a stretch for me, he is def better than Wiseman at it to be fair

I also don't think you want to play OO at PF, like ever

Really small sample size but I'd take my chances on Wiseman if I were a GM. He' s barely received any high level coaching but I think he looks to have the tools to succeed in the NBA as a modern 5. I think it was especially encouraging to see a lot of micro-movement from him off ball on O and D. He seems to be making constant mental and physical adjustments which is a great sign. He often doesn't make the right adjustments but that will probably come with experience and coaching.

Wiseman maybe worth the gamble for some of the high lottery orgs over most other high lottery options esp teams searching for that pie in the sky upside type pick but He is a long term project morso than some seem to think. This guy misses point blank lay ups and hes a 7'er...
I would be more interested in the obviously higher floor of Okongwu where even if he fails to become an elite player (which he has the physical gifts to be), he is already a mid lottery level prospect if he never improves and a much safer bet as a result. I am not sold Wiseman has that much more upside to beleive it will rank him ahead of Okongwu for most orgs that are looking at bigs.
Maybe for Detroit or CLE since they are a long ways away, but most other high lottery teams wont take that gamble needing a point guard or wing more. I mean Wolves sure as hell aint drafting Wiseman over Okongwu unless KAT demands a trade before October, CLE probably wouldn't with Love still on the roster, NY and GSW might go bpa and see him as just that, but doesn't make much sense for either aside from trade bait in GSW case or NY giving up on Robinson that fast. ATL just got Capella so they are out most likely, CHI might take him as an upgrade to what they have, but it's not a position of need, CHA needs a PG more but I guess they are a 50/50 on WIseman should they get into the top 4. None of PHO Kings or Spurs seem like WIseman landing spots should they get into the top 4...
IMO WIseman goes to either Detroit ( who could take a PG) or CLE(who could pick any of the 2-3 options over him) or maybe CHA if they dont like the pg options left.In most any other scenario unless somebody trades up that isnt in the lottery he is not getting picked over Okongwu. Who has a better career depends on who goes where , who is more hungry etc.

I love both players, I rate both guys the same, but i'm going to take Wiseman...

But if their is even one red flag on Wiseman's medical, i'm taking Kong and feeling good about it.
