Butler to me is a lotto type talent so obviously Butler here, but Dotson is a good get if he falls to the 2nd

Butler is better suited to the modern game, given his potential to play both on and off the ball. His shooting is a better fit with most teams.

both likely back ups but Dotson is a sneaky explosive guard and Butlers handle is special and has a good egg so if either can add something else at a high level who knows.
I dont like one over the other at this point but I voted Dotson because I think he has a clutch gene

i'm really not sure how Butler's not seen as a top guard, he's stupid good offensively, has a deadly live dribble, can use both hands, can attack close outs, can shoot step-backs, and play off-ball, can C+S, is a good passer/manager...

it's funny, guys like Maledon and Hayes are seen as much better than Butler but neither of them can ever make a play like this:

Do you have Butler's synergy stats on pull-up shooting vs. catch and shoot? Because I don't see him as a good enough on-ball shooter to ask him to do that.

yeah he got him to bite pretty easy on that one.
I sometimes wonder if I am sleeping on his chances long term.

That's like his best play, though. It's not something he has consistently done from what I've seen.

right but even though terrence lewis is a bad defender I could see Butler pulling that on half the pg's in the NBA whos bnb is
offensive only

Unless his on-ball equity + decision-making improves significantly, I don't see him being able to do things like this consistently.

I like Dotson better. He's elite at finishing and getting to the rim works hard on defense despite his size and I have no doubts that his shot will improve in the league

Also not really something you can base off stats but after watching a hard working winner like vanvleet a lot I get the same vibe from dotson

They're very different players. Not sure why anyone would want to compare them skill-wise or role-wise.
I was right about 3 point shooting. I expect to be right about Tacko Fall. Some coach will figure out how to use Tacko Fall. This movement towards undersized centers will sweep ng back. Back to the basket scorers will return to the NBA.

I've watched Butler's full scouting tape from start to finish. I can confidently say that he does not do this all the time.
