Picked him in Euroleague fantasy as my cheapest option, didnt expect much obviously, but seems like a misfire so far. At age 17, he should start showing something, I know season is just starting.

Victor is slowly starting to come along.

His best 2 games of the season came in 2 of his last 3 games.

His shooting percentages are still terrible, mainly because for some reason he takes a lot of 3s and doesn't make any of them, although they are slowly creeping up.

But his defensive potential is unlike anything I've ever seen. 17 blocks in his last 5 games as opposed to 18 in his first 16. Impossible to know where he is offensively 18 months from now considering he just turned 18 years old but I think this will take some time. Regardless his defensive potential is historically great, so greatness awaits him. Once he has the positioning down which he is starting to have, it will be impossible to score against him.

He's 18 now but still has unreal potential. 18pt 4/5 at 3pt yesterday in his last Euroleague game of the season

I went to Orléans Vs ASVEL yesterday and I saw him playing and now after this game, I have on thing to say: there is no hype.
He is not only tall, he is really skilled and is very reactive, this is very scary! Everything looked easy, and even if he tried some hard shots, we know that with training this will be ok in very few years and that he will be unstoppable!!
Last point, i was worried about injuries, about his body until yesterday. All I can say is that physically he really improved, he is getting some weight and I am not worried anymore. I hope to see him this summer for 2022 Eurobasket.
Frank Ntilikina is a play-off player, but he goes to the Hornets.

Paris 2024 (Starters):
Ntilikina - Malédon - Hayes
Coulibaly - De Colo
TLC - Rupert or Risacher
Wembanyama- Yabusele
Embiid- Poirier - Lessort [without Embiid: Fall]

At least last game's highlights provide a good showing of what he can do as a passer. Its very underrated, but his court vision and passing game is really promising, even if sometimes he is a bit too 'easy' (and get some turnovers).

Very good Euroleague finish to what was, a statistically, all time bad season for an Euroleague center. Of course he is 18 and his game is getting stronger, so thats what matters. His defense already is out of this world, its just everything else is 2 years away from 2 years away, to abuse a term.

Another impressive game by Wembanyama :

After a slow start and many injuries, he's demonstrating his improvement. He really dominates french elite since he's healthy, especially defensively. Offensively his shooting and passing are impressive for a guy his size.

22.0 minutes

58% FG
50% 3FG

He's gonna go off next season

And his team (ASVEL) is unbeaten since 8 games.
He has MVP level in his last month in French Elite.
If he continues to improve, he could dominate Euroleague next year

He's really good for his age, but no way is he dominating EuroLeague next season.

We will see, in his last few games he already dominated on defensive end.

I don't see any reason why he wouldn't except that he doesn't play for a top EuroLeague team.

He's developing, getting physically stronger and has been much better since his injury recovery.

The key is how he manages to stay healthy. He would have dominate in French Elite earlier this year if he was healthy. He was out of rythm in the first half of season due to injuries
Next year will be a test, if he's still injury prone, it should be a red flag for the NBA.
As for now he's unable to play 82 games a year at adult level, but we have to remember he's still a teenager.
And he has to get stronger, but I don't worry about it, his body develops slowly but surely. He's not Chet Holmgren, his body allows muscle, it's just a matter of time. Gobert was rail thin at the same age. I think VW can average 12p/6r/2b in 20mpg in Euroleague next year just by staying healthy which is almost dominant (14-15 PIR).
If he continues to improve his basketball IQ, shot selection and passing (which he does at the end of this season) he could be a lot better, even with a limited playing time (he won't play more than 25mpg). And if he adds 10+ pounds this summer he'll be dominant like he was in U19. Nobody can match his combination of length/ quickness and skills in Euroleague, and his defensive impact is already world class when healthy. I hope we'll see it at Eurobasket this summer :D

I recently heard James Gist, former Terps star, talking about Victor on a podcast and that got me even more excited than I already was. I hope it all works out for him because he the raw tools to be somewhat of a new-school version of what Ralph Sampson was back in the day (without the injuries that derailed him).

Ball Movement podcast. It's a newer one. Randomly stumbled on across it. It's on the 2nd episode at around the 42 minute mark.
