surprised at the number of votes for Toppin... he is 22 yrs old and doesnt defend the perimeter at all. he might not be playable in a starting 5 if he cannot defend the paint better than he did in Dayton of all colleges. People are in love with his hops Id say and are overvaluing him as a result. He aint no Blake either.

If Toppin ends up being the pick here then the people that voted have no clue about the Cavs.

Everything I've read about this team for months indicates they LOVE Wiseman and Okoro. I think they are their #1 and #2 guys.

Yeah, it doesn’t seem like a Cavs pick to me. They’re much more likely to pick for upside. They’re a small market and would rather grow their players than pick an older players so early. I can’t remember the Cavs not drafting a one-and-done in the lottery.m

But in defense of those people the Cavs could make moves to make room for a big and Toppin might be better than he gets credit for. Just doesn’t seem like a Cavs pick, especially with how old he is.

I say we give this thing til 3PM and move on. Cleveland is all over the place with a player blocking almost every position, lol

People voting for Toppin are hoping that Cavs go with him so their team doesn't. I would go Okoro here, since Sexton/Garland are score first guards.

Pretty much. I'm picking the worst option from here on out since that's obviously what others did.

Toppin us my #2 bpa. He's going to be one of the 15 best offensive PF's in the NBA for the next ten years (barring injury).

Excellent in transition, a fine outside shooter who will likely get better and one of the best explosive dunkers to enter the league in the past 5 years.

Cleveland shouldn't draft a PG, so forget that position. Vassell, Okoro, Toppin, Onyeka are the only picks here that are realistic imo.

Vassell and Okoro don't have the upside of Toppin, so let's throw them out.

Onyeka would be a good fit with Love, but why would you build around K.Love at this point?

Onyeka can become OKC Ibaka if he adds a 15-18 foot jumper. Toppin will end up a much more valuable offensive player and will enhance you PG's rather than clog the lane for them.

How hard is it to find an Okoro or a Vassell?

Their are tons of 3&D types. Maybe Okoro has a little more upside, but dose anyone think either has all-star potential? Like, realistically they can be an all-star? Does anyone really see Iguodala or Shawn Marion types from these too? Vassell isn't as big or good a shooter as even Mikal Bridges and Okoro has a broken Jonas is.

Toppin is going to walk in the NBA and average 20/7/2 if giving time. He's an explosive brim protector if an inconsistent one. He's obviously not going to be a featured defensive player, but a PF with his skill sets can open up an offenses scoring potential in a rare way.

How many PF's in the league can average 20ppg be stretch threats, be put back threats, be lethel in transition and give you highlight defensive plays?

Your building around Garland/Sexton/#5. I know that's depressing, but Toppin fits with either of those guys.

If Garland pops a Toppin/Garland combo is 1 star wing from being an electric offense. If Garland busts and you stay with Sexton, Sexton/Toppin is one star wing from being a top 10 offense.

For examble:
Capella/Aaron Baynes
Toppin/Grant Williams
Anounoby/Osman
Butler/KCP
Sexton/Garland

Would be a year in and out playoff team, and that's about the ceiling for any team without a top 5 MVP candidate.

That team is also essentially, Garland/Sexton/Osman/Toppin/Capella(traded for pick #17)/KCP(replaceable less than MLE FA), Baynes (a 2nd attached to give away his 6Mil expiring contract), Grant Williams (last year a 2nd round pick), Anounoby (a late first from two years ago and a future RFA who can probably be had), + the star y'all still need.

I can definitely see Toppin having the impact of a TJ Warren.

James Wiseman.

I think he slides a little, but not past the Cavs.
