Dillon Brooks is probably his best comp/Bane might be the better shooter but Brooks the better handles/finishing ability

I think if it wasn't for his T Rex arms he be a near lottery pick. meanwhile he reminds me of Gary Trent JR.. i would love him at 26 for Boston..

 He’s a shooter. Hes just not that quick. He’s a pretty solid passer and has smart hesitations. He’s also strong despite his wingspan. IMO he’s not getting to the basket in the NBA and that will hurt his effectiveness. I think he’ll have some pretty good games where he gets hot, but overall just a good roleplayer. Best case scenario IMO is a poor man’s modern Eric Gordon. Rockets Gordon, not young Gordon. I just don’t think he’s the best shooter in this draft and I think his defense a little overrated. I think he can learn to use his body te on defense tho and make it tough.

Dude can flat out shoot the 3. While his wingspan is very short, his standing reach was average - or very close to average - in a prior measurement. He's been his team's leader on defense and plays a physical style. I think he's somewhat similar physically to Jae Crowder and certainly a more consistent shooter. I'd be fine with him as the Bucks' pick at 24.

I think he’d look good in a Bucks uniform.

Underrated passing ability, really good at scanning the floor in transition and his shot is his calling card. I guess i'm less excited about him due to that negative wingspan, lack of explosiveness and sloppy handle. Late 1st/ Early 2nd tier prospect that should be able to contribute right away.

I see alot of Josh Hart in his future. Basically, a nice 3/D guard who you ideally dont have starting unless your other 4 positions are stacked. I think he is closer to a 38% 3PT guy than Hart's 35%.

I think GTJ is more of a scorer than Bane and has more spring than him.

He's a trier. That gets you a roster spot, with his skillset. Beyond that, hard to see.

He's like Baron Davis or Deron Williams with half the PG skills. Maybe he's a combo guard. He defends though.

I see his best overall comparison as a stronger, slightly better 3 pt shooting Eric Gordon obviously.

And I have his draft range anywhere from 14- 26? :dontknow:

I think this is a guy who has largely been overrated by draft twitter and on these boards as well. He's fine off-ball. Nothing special or super impactful. He doesn't have the explosiveness or lateral quickness to keep up with guys going East-West. He's strong enough to contain straight line drives from most guys, but once you put him in a P&R or get him out in space, it's over. Most players will be able to just shoot over him. He will be hunted off the floor.

Range is anywhere between 27-45.

Hart's not a bad comp, but not only will Bane make a better percentage of his 3's, but he's got deeper 3 range. Teams have to guard him farther out from the basket.

I want to like him but that wingspan really caps his potential.

At minimum he should be able to space the floor, provide some secondary playmaking and compete on defence and that's enough to get you a 10 year career. But that's more Courtney Lee and a career journeyman than anyone to get truly excited about as a fan.

Average wingspan, average athletcism, great shooting, good defense (in college)

His future is as a 3 point specialist who wont hurt you on the defensive end.

His wingspan will hurt his defensive capabilities. Name me one guard with a below average wingspan who was a a certified defensive stopper. For that reason I cant see his defense translating to the next level.

His shooting will also need to undergo big time changes when he gets to the NBA. His release point is far too low and will be easily blocked in the NBA.

He can be a solid piece for a team but there's a couple tweaks he will need to make to his game or his game will not translate at the NBA level.

Realistically his best comparison is Terrence Ross minus the elite athleticism. Solid shooter, and a neutral defender.

A player like Bane would be a lottery pick if his arms where a little longer, and if he was a little more athletic. His IQ or skills wont hold him back but rather his toolbox.

Considering age, potential, and draft range... Tyler Bey is a much better prospect. He also has his flaws (all toolbox and no tools ATM). Its far easier to gain skills than it is to grow 6 inches in wingspan, become a little faster, and jump a little higher.

Potential isn't really something you can predict...or at least it's not something we do well. There are more Desmond Bane types, guys who were seem as lower potential for XYZ, that became steals than Jaden McDaniels types.
