Unpopular opinion here but I think he busts compared to where he goes in the draft. I think maybe he winds up as a back up.

I think Suggs is a taller Tj Ford/Conley.

Jalen Suggs

Post#143 » by BoyzNTheHood » Thu Jul 1, 2021 7:22 pm

I went back 10 pages and didn't find a thread dedicated to him. He's probably been discussed at length in the draft thread, but I would think a top 5 pick deserved his own thread.

Said it in the other thread, but the kid's great. He's got a good head on his shoulders, and a solid all around. Reminds me of prime Deron.

Deron isnt bad.

I have a PG version of Roy. Just going to be really good at just about everything, maybe not elite at much but a guy I think is a born winner who may not put the PPG of Green but finds a way to get his team wins. Alot like Hali in that regard.

I think he will be a true leader in the NBA. A culture-changing guy who doesn't have the skillset of Green or Cade, but who will provide a lot in the intangibles. His outside shot definitely needs some work, though.

Good athlete, strong, but kinda stiff in the hips imo. Needs to add some wiggle and add some advanced dribbles.

Very instinctive player on both sides, plays hard but could improve his man to man defense. I've seen him get blown by way too often. Very good team defender tho. Very high bball iq, emotional leader type.

He really needs to become a consistent 3 point shooter and mid range guy to become a superstar. His touch around the rim isn't great either, decent but could improve.

That won't be a problem with Lowry mentoring him.

Suggs can't even get a thread named after him. What if he's the best player in the draft?

then he'll likely have a page 3 spot on the GM board along with a feature slot in the rookie thread

Kispert is getting so taken for granted and overlooked. His boy band suburban face will smile at you while he rips your heart out. 6.8% body fat.6'7, 223lbs. Shot 44% on high volume. Plays physical D. Has a nasty competitive streak and a high BBIQ...what's not to love? His floor is a MUCH more athletic Korver and he'll have a 12+ year NBA career. Zero all-star games but will contribute to several other All-Stars with his heady play and floor spreading, IMO.

I'd be thrilled if someone 1-4 drinks the Barnes Kool-Aid and leaves ORL with a Zags upgrade with Suggs at 5 and Kispert at 8.

Kispert is awful. He's a molasses slow stand still spot up shooter. He doesn't have Korver or Redick's ability to come off a screen and shoot while he's still moving. On top of that he's absolutely not athletic and he looks like the kind of guy who gets roasted over and over on D. He'll be lucky to have a Kapono career.

Suggs on the other hand is going to be great. He's easily the best competitor and leader in the draft. He's going to turn whatever team drafts him into a winner.

I highly disagree Kispert has a floor anywhere near that high. I think his athleticism is slightly underrated because of his thick frame but if his shot isn’t falling he’s going to be borderline unplayable. I honestly think Ayayi has a higher floor than him. If Ayayi isn’t shooting well he’s still giving you good rebounding and solid defense.
