People compare Barnes to these guys (Stanley Johnson, MKG, Josh Jackson), but he's a lot bigger than those guys. This dude is the same size as Bam (and might honestly be bigger) and i think can reasonably play C against most lineups in the league while also handling the ball as well as anyone his size this side of Simmons/Lebron/Luka. Thats a special prospect

stop listening to those people whoever they are.

He is bigger and a better athlete. He has a good feel and vision for passing. But he can’t shoot and his one on one defense could mature into elite but it’s not there yet. There are some concerns here. I think bust isn’t one of them but not maturing into a top five pick value is one.

His ceiling is Giannis with Simmons playmaking

How likely he reaches that ceiling is a difficult one though. His more likely scenario is a more athletic Draymond which is still a hell of a player. Not a #1 on a championship team but a great complementary star

Can he score? In college he didn't look like he had that type of ability. Will it be easier in the pros? Not sure. I think if a team selected him they would have to pick him with the assumption his offense will not improve to being a big-time scorer (which means you would be picking him for his role player traits - defense, versatility, hustle, secondary playmaking).

I love this guy, he is built like Ben Simmons, maybe a little more heft where Simmons is more chiseled, but Scottie might be a inch taller overall probably weighs more.

I see a guy who will play PF in the NBA, but will be able to play PG thought the game on offense.

He just attacks, attacks and attacks the rim. Great wingspan and athleticism, he will finished OVER you. His handle is NBA level for driving to the basket against most defenders imo.

If he can get his ft% around 80% and his threes around 36% I think he has franchise player on a title contender upside.

The best part about him to me, is he look like a guy who can mesh and still be elite with other elite talents. I think he actually does have best player on a title team potential if he 100% maximizes his abilities. But more realistically I can see him as a 2nd or 3rd member of a big three team that could run the league.

He plays PG at FSU.

Lamar Odom is a name I've read on here, and it makes sense to a degree but I'd expect better Point-Forward skills, better drive and dish skills, and better leadership intangibles. But Odom was an incredible dedenser and a fine shooter, with good playmaking skills himself. I think Barnes is on a different level as a ball handler and passer.

He's really a new breed of PF imo

Wow. People are very very optimistic of his scoring ability with some of these high end comps.

I just don't see the offensive upside with him skill wise. Maybe a Draymond type but his impact drops in half court.

At 19 years old, he already has better handles and shot creation than Green. And his scoring upside is much higher. I dunno where he might end up or if he reaches his heights, but I only really see the Green comp defensively. Offensively, he's much more of an actual PG/guard

Not sure I buy that. Scottie's a year younger, but Kyle was pretty much better at everything (except steals and dunking).

Scottie clearly has an athletic advantage over KA, but he has that advantage in college as well - which implies that his skill/IQ level is worse. Thus I don't think you can say KA is his floor.

Personality
Mannerisms
Can’t shoot or worse broken shot
Take away his right drive literally can’t score
Amazing man on man defender
Can pass and facilitate great
Long as hell/athletic

The Draymond Green comp gets thrown around too much

... But he’s a nice version of Draymond Green? Like no complaining to the refs. Other then that eerily similar at every part lol.

Care to explain?

He has the size and playmaking as well as the intensity of Giannis. It’s a pretty reasonable CEILING but he’s likely not gonna reach it, as I said. Not many players actually reach their ceiling

Why not just say Ben Simmons with a shot as his ceiling? Or Ben Simmons lite?

So Barnes ceiling is the GOAT in basketball?

Personally, I think Scottie has Lebron lite potential.

That is not "the" GOAT, but it's a GOAT.

Once again, I'm saying potential/high end.

I have Scootie #2 right now on my big board. Fwiw
