Santiago Vescovi - The uruguayan Ginobili

Post#1 » by elchengue20 » Tue Jan 19, 2021 4:33 pm

I'm currently following this player very close because we are from the same country.

He's a 6-3 starting PG at Tennesse playing his Sophomore season. Hes averaging 10/3.5/3.5 with a 2/1 asist/To ratio and 40% from 3.

He has some similarities with Ginobili, highly competitive and smart player, with great fundamentals. He isn't nearly as big and athletic as Ginobili though, but he has improved since getting to the NCAA last season.

What are his chances of being picked in the NBA Draft one day?

Two things.
-If someone is only 6'3 and reminds you of Ginobli, at least offensively then you sortve might as well say Toni Parker. Cause what I think of is his downhill can't stop ability to get to the rim and at 6'3 Parker was one of the best
-he didn't remind me of any of those things.

Yes, i think his chances of making to the NBA are low.Not impossible, but very difficult.

His only chance may be in the long run, playing in the G Leage and grinding his way up there. The Caruso or Toscano Anderson path, for example.

I don't know if he's willing to do that, maybe he ll prefer to play in Europe right away making more money.

The future of Uruguayan basketball is Agustin Ubal.

Yeah, he's probably end up being the better player. He's bigger and athletic, and even may be more talented.

Great news for us to have two prospects of that calibeer.

Thanks for the clip, i dind't watched Ubal play since the U16 tournament here where Barcelona decided to buy him. It looks like he's poolishing his game there, jumpshot looks better.
